He still is a raw prospect at this time, but he is a player that we feel can be a solid contributor at the JC level and could develop into a D2 caliber prospect. Height, a long wingspan, and the ability to make a nice number of plays on the defensive side of the ball are all attributes that make him an intriguing player. He recently made his commitment to Lenior CC to join several other talented ENC signees.
A dual sport athlete that made plays on the court and on the gridiron for Hertford County, Powell will join former teammate Daylan Askew at Chowan University next season. He led the bears in scoring with over 17 Points per contest while shooting just under 50% from the field and pulling down 5 Rebounds per game.
After picking up an early offer from Elizabeth City State at the beginning of the month, he recently received his first D1 offer from Coastal Carolina University. He already has the size of a college wing, continues to improve on both sides of the ball and has a chance to be very special and will most likely pick up more offers sooner than later.
Highlights
Another late pickup for Lenoir CC, Lewis is one of the latest to join a strong recruiting class for LCC and he brings the attitude and work ethic that should make him successful. He has been a part of a winning program at Lumberton over the past few seasons and although he may be considered undersized for a Power Forward, he does not allow himself to get outworked by taller opponents.
