I was really impressed with the improvements Abu has made to his game since the high school season. This weekend, he looked smooth and under control when creating looks for himself off the dribble and also showed off his improved perimeter shooting. He often took the role as his team’s main ball handler as well, bringing the ball up the floor. At 6’5”, he already has great size for a wing player. It will be fun to watch this BSM team next season as they return just about everyone from last year.

Jackson has continued to prove why he is likely to be ranked as the number 1 prospect in the state every weekend. The combination of his size and skill is unmatched and he puts it to use to shoot right over opponents from beyond the arc and can also use the dribble to get downhill to finish at the rim. McAndrew is an ultra confident scoring weapon who is wanted by just about every school in the country right now. He will lead the charge for Wayzata as they look to repeat and win their third championship in the last four years next season.

Isaiah has been another guy who has made huge improvements to his game since the high school season. He looks super confident when he is on the floor and has been using his size and athleticism to get down hill and finish strong. He can stretch the floor as well, working off the ball in the catch-and-shoot, or putting the ball on the floor to create a look for himself on the perimeter. Johnson has been stacking offers this spring and summer and will likely be the lead scoring option for Totino-Grace as they look to three-peat after losing a lot of senior star power.

Chiang has been so fun to watch these past two weekends. He is easily the best shot blocker in the state and uses his long reach and shot blocking expertise to send opponents’ shots back. He is so good at protecting the paint but can also step out and hit shots from beyond the arc confidently. He showed flashes of what he can do with the ball in the open floor as well, but that is not necessarily his role as a player. I believe that whoever ends up with Ring at the next level is getting a stud as he always adds value to a team when he is on the floor with his 3-and-D abilities.
I have been able to see Jon play back-to-back weekends now and I was equally impressed both times. He can really do everything when he is on the floor, but does not need the ball in his hands a lot to make a huge impact. He is 6’7” and is one of the highest leapers in the state. It is even more impressive as he has the ability to connect with shots from deep and defend at a high level. Mekonnen has skyrocketed as a recruit this spring and currently holds a handful of division 1 offers.
Jackson looked really good creating looks for himself off the dribble and locking down on the defensive end. He has no problem making full speed finishes at the basket with either hand and has a deep bag of ways he can create separation on his way to the cup. He was hitting defenders with euro steps, spin moves, and other creative moves to make defenders look silly. Fowlkes will be a vital part of a Park Center team that will thrive when creating turnovers and converting in transition.
The combination of Shaun’s size and athleticism alone make him an incredibly intriguing prospect, but I liked what I saw when he was creating looks for himself using the dribble. He found a lot of success on the offensive boards, converting second chance baskets off of teammates’ misses, including a strong two-handed slam. Wysocki was fantastic on the defensive end as well, constantly blocking and altering opponents’ shots and poking balls free as an on-ball defender. The 6’7” forward has had a huge spring and summer thus far.

Charlie was doing a little bit of everything this weekend, being able to make plays on the inside and the outside. He is an above average rebounder and used his strong 6-foot-5 frame to out-muscle opponents for boards. He was also very efficient shooting the ball from deep, always looking under control when stepping into his shots off the catch or after taking a dribble or two. Theis has been an important piece of a very successful Minnesota Fury 17U team this spring and summer and is a true team player.
Tray was catching fire from beyond the arc this weekend in one of the games I was able to catch! He has super clean mechanics and shot the ball with confidence whenever the opportunity arose. The 2025 forward has great size at 6-foot-6, as he is able to shoot right over weak contests by defenders. I was able to see him play a decent amount this past high school season at Chaska and was always impressed with his perimeter shooting at his size.

Andrew’s touch is amazing and was scoring from all three levels in the action I was able to see. On the inside, he has a great feel for where defenders are and can float layups around them to avoid being blocked. I also saw him connect with some shots in the mid-range and from beyond the arc off the catch. Quam has been a standout on the Prep Hoops Circuit this season and has seen his stock continue to increase. Lakeville North is in for another successful season with Andrew being a key piece for the Panthers.
