There have already been some prospects that earned scholarship offers coming out of the event and there will be even more in the coming days as staffs getting together to debrief. Let’s dive in to five stock-risers that stood out from spending the day taking in the action, and talking to coaches, at the 2023 IBCA Top 100 Showcase.
Henry is one of the real under-the-radar, up-and-coming prospects in the Class of 2025. The 6’5″ wing has flashed the ability to be a three-level scorer while playing against some of the best in the set state. He can stretch the floor out beyond three-point range, has a smooth mid-range game, and has the height to finish around the basket. Really intriguing long-term prospect.
Highlights
If you are looking for one player in the Class of 2025 that could really see his recruitment take off in the next month this East Chicago Central product should be at or near the top of your list. Murphy Jr. has good size and length at 6’5″, has gotten noticeably stronger physically, and still has the same well-rounded offensive skill set. This guy can flat out score the basketball and showed that on Saturday at the Top 100 Showcase.
Schultz has quickly become one of my favorite small college big man targets with his play this spring and summer. The 6’7″ forward is crafty and skilled around the basket while also flashing some ability to stretch the floor as well. He is strong, rebounds well on both ends of the floor, and showcases good footwork. Definitely one for college programs to watch in July that need an impactful big man in their 2024 class.
Highlights
It has been a very productive spring and start to the summer for this 6’4″ wing out of Portage High School. Wellman led the Indians in scoring at 14.4 points per game while adding 5.6 rebounds as a sophomore. Now, the versatile offensive player has been tearing it up on the UA Rise Circuit with Indiana Game and backed it up with a strong showing on Saturday at the IBCA Top 100 Showcase. He was offered by Huntington earlier in the spring but should continue to see that list of college suitors grow over the next month or so. Physical, skilled, and knows how to play.
The talent that Wells possesses got overlook a little bit during his freshman season due to Mt. Vernon being led in scoring by two of his classmates. However, the 6’4″ wing has pieced together a breakout spring while playing on the EYBL Circuit with Meanstreets and continued that into the month of June with the Marauders. Wells was excellent when I saw him at Purdue on Thursday and then played very well at the IBCA Top 100 Showcase on Saturday despite not even originally being selected to participate. He filled in for his teammate

who recently rolled his ankle and made the absolute most of the opportunity. Wells is very skilled offensively and can score it in a variety of ways.
