Class of 2024
Brock Ray Brock Ray 6'11" | C St John's Christian | 2024 State SC – St Johns Christian Academy (Moncks Corner)
Ray is a big guy in the paint for the Cavaliers. Brock has been here all through high school and led the Cavaliers to a SCISA Class 2A State Championship last season. Ray has lost 25 pounds he told Prep Hoops and rightly so you can see it in his play around the bucket.
Brock has legit size and soft hands down in the paint. He plays with his back to the basket and at times I would like to see him demand the ball more down inside the paint. Ray didn’t play Grassroots ball this past spring he told Prep Hoops. This kid will be a piece for a college program down the road with his legit size and movement on the floor.
Michael Vince Michael Vince 6'5" | SG Pinewood Prep | 2024 State SC – Pinewood Prep (Summerville)
Vince is a SHOOTER and every college program can use that on their roster. Michael does a good job of receiving the ball in the pocket and letting it fly with a quick trigger from downtown. He understands on how to get open and get space on his shot. He runs with the Charleston Raptors on the Grassroots Circuit.
Noah Tanner Noah Tanner 5'11" | SG Laurence Manning Academy | 2024 State SC – Laurence Manning Academy (Manning)
Tanner will be counted on heavily this season for the Swamp Cats to step up his game. Noah is more of a spot-up shooter out on the wing. He likes to setup camp in the corners and look to knockdown the 3-ball.
Connor Hayes Connor Hayes 5'11" | SG Calhoun Academy | 2024 State SC – Calhoun Academy (St Matthews)
Hayes came out on fire with his shot today in game vs Faith Christian. Connor is a great athlete and excels on the football field as a quarterback and on the baseball diamond. Hayes showed a very accurate stroke today while shooting the ball very productively. He didn’t look to force anything while on the floor.
Class of 2025
AJ Gresham AJ Gresham 6'0" | CG Cathedral Academy | 2025 State SC – Cathedral Academy (North Charleston)
Gresham was my MVP for his work today on the floor for the Generals. He was great in all 3 games we watched him play today. AJ scored the ball from all 3-levels on the floor today. He attacked the rack at will and scored through contact on the way to the bucket several times.
AJ showed good body control when making moves to the basket. He was able to hit some perimeter jumpers for his squad. Gresham constantly played with a HIGH MOTOR all game long and never took a play-off it seemed. He logged a lot of minutes and enjoyed playing it looked like. Besides scoring the scoring ball he showed some crafty passing skills and better yet was in constant communication with his teammates.
Hunter Thornburg – Calhoun Academy (St Matthews)
Thornburg is an undersized post player for the Cavaliers. Hunter played around the paint and looked to battled inside whenever needed to.
Isaiah Freberg Isaiah Freberg 6'3" | SG Faith Christian | 2025 State SC – Faith Christian (Summerville)
Freberg looks to be the guy that will have to step-up for the defending SCISA Class 1A State Champions this season. Isaiah was able to connect on a few perimeter jumpers here today for the Knights.
Michael King Michael King 6'4" | PF Faith Christian | 2025 State SC – Faith Christian (Summerville)
King a left-handed post player will be counted on a lot for an inside presence this coming season for Head Coach Steve Guerry. Michael seems to be most comfortable scoring the ball from 2-4 feet away from the bucket.
