We will take a look at the rankings by position over the next few days. Here’s a look at part two of the shooting guards and small forwards in the sophomore class.
15) Stuart Cosby Stuart Cosby 6'6" | SF St. Christopher's | 2025 State VA | 6’5” SF | St. Christopher’s (#49 Overall)
Cosby is one of the more underrated players in the Richmond area, as the 6’5” wing has the ability to impact the game in a number of different ways. He has good size on the wing that allows him to get downhill and finish at the rim through contact, he can knock down shots from deep and in the midrange on the pull-up and he’s a good defender both on the ball and in help.
14) Cortlin Siska Cortlin Siska 6'4" | SG Immaculate Conception | 2025 State NJ | 6’4” SG | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes (#48 Overall)
Siska is the type of player a coach loves to have his team, as he’s a defensive minded wing who can make a positive impact on the game whether he’s scoring or not. He plays with a great motor and energy and takes on the challenge of guarding the other team’s best perimeter scorer, he makes all the hustle plays and is a good rebounder for his position and he can knock down shots from deep off the catch and attack the rim as well.
13) Dwayne Tucker Dwayne Tucker 6'3" | SF Skyline | 2025 State VA | 6’3” SF | Skyline (#47 Overall)
The town of Front Royal has produced plenty of athletes, mostly on the football field, but Skyline had a great season this past year and have a budding superstar on the court in Tucker. The 6’3” wing has a lot of raw talent and potential as he has good size and is a good athlete, he can get downhill and finish through traffic and knock down shots when he’s left open and he is a good rebounder as well.
12) Zekiah Bradley-Gilbert | 6’6” SF | Christchurch (#43 Overall)
Bradley-Gilbert may not play at a classic powerhouse in Christchurch, but he’ll have coaches rolling through Deltaville to see him over the next few years. The 6’6” wing is a versatile and talented player who has a lot of tools as he can put it on the deck and get to the rim where he’s an athletic finisher, he shoots the ball well from beyond the arc and in the midrange and he can play and guard multiple positions too.
11) Gabriel D’Alessandro | 6’4” SG | St. Anne’s-Belfield (#37 Overall)
STAB was one of the most talented teams in the state last year, and while D’Alessandro didn’t put up huge numbers with all the options on their team he’s going to have a lot more opportunities to show what he can do moving forward. The 6’4” off guard is a strong and competitive kid who gets after it on both ends of the floor, he’s a prototypical 3 and d prospect with his ability to knock down shots from deep and he has a good IQ and good feel too.
10) Chancellor Perkins Chancellor Perkins 6'2" | SG Highland | 2025 State VA | 6’2” SG | Highland School (#34 Overall)
Highland shocked a lot of people by winning the VISAA D2 state championship with pretty much a whole new team last year, and Perkins played a major role all season and particularly in the Final Four. He was their spark off the bench as he is instant offense with his ability to make shots from well beyond the 3 point line, he has good quickness and is shifty off the bounce and he knows how to create space and hit tough shots with the ball in his hands.
9) Anthony Saunders Anthony Saunders 6'2" | SG Edison | 2025 State VA | 6’2” SG | Edison (#28 Overall)
Saunders has been an impact player and one of the best players in NOVA public schools over the past two years, and he’s starting to make his name known among college coaches this spring too. The 6’2” guard is a strong downhill finisher who attacks with aggression and plays well through contact, he can play on or off the ball where he can get open and make shots from deep in both scenarios and he is a very good on ball defender that pesters ball handlers and makes plays.
8) Colby White Colby White 6'5" | SF Blue Ridge | 2025 State VA | 6’5” SF | Blue Ridge (#23 Overall)
White has as much potential as anyone on this list as the Buchanan native will turn heads with college coaches as he continues to develop and get seen moving forward. The 6’5” wing checks the boxes physically and athletically as he has a good basketball frame with long arms and a strong upper body, he can handle it in transition and get downhill where he’s a good finisher, he can make shots from multiple levels and he has huge upside defensively and could turn into a lock down defender.
7) Desmond Rose Desmond Rose 6'6" | SF John Marshall | 2025 State VA | 6’6” SF | John Marshall (#20 Overall)
Rose was an important part of John Marshall’s historic season as the first guy off the bench for them, and he’s another one that coaches will need to keep an eye on as he continues to develop. He has a very high ceiling as he is a good athlete with good size and the ability to play multiple positions, he plays with a good motor hitting the glass and protecting the rim, he’s a good finisher with explosion and strength and he has good touch and can stretch the floor as well.
6) Justin Burrough Justin Burrough 6'6" | SF Norfolk Collegiate | 2025 State VA | 6’5” SF | Norfolk Collegiate (#18 Overall)
Burrough is part of a talented young Norfolk Collegiate team that will be a force to reckon with in the TCIS over the next few years, and he is developing into one of the top prospects in the 757 in his class. The 6’5” wing has the pedigree and genes in him as his father Junior Burrough was a standout at UVA and you can see some of his game in his son too. Burrough is long and still growing into his body and getting more athletic everyday, he can really shoot it and has the size to make shots with little to no space and he is a hard nosed and smart defender who makes plays on that end of the floor too.
