Ian Bush
Ian Bush
Ian Bush is a name to know heading into the prime of grassroots play this summer. This is a kid who flew under the radar his junior year with Burlington Christian Academy, but has shown his game is on an upwards trajectory with his performance so far this season. At 6’3″, this combo guard has the build college programs are looking for. Bush is an athlete in all aspects of the word and knows how to channel these attributes of his game to make big-time plays on both ends of the floor. Attacks the basket with purpose. Uses his body to draw contact. Makes big-time finishes at the rim. Bush’s perimeter shooting is still a work in progress but has continued to develop alongside the other pieces of his game. Same deal from behind the arc. He’s improving. Expect Bush to dedicate much of this grassroots season to developing confidence and range with his shot. On defense, Bush is a warrior. Gets after it on every play. Not afraid to match up and lock down opposing teams’ bigs. Because of a leaner frame, Bush was subjected to a little bully ball under the rim at times this high school season, but expect getting his body right as part of his summer agenda. Keep an eye out for Ian Bush to make a name for himself this summer and cement his status as one of the most intriguing stock risers in the class of 2024.
Kobie Stadler
Kobie Stadler
Coming off a respectable junior year with Cummings High School in Burlington, N.C., Kobie Stadler is a guy you can expect to creep his way into the class of 2024 rankings and hold his ground with the best. Stadler is your picture-perfect true point guard. He’s got the size. He’s got the IQ. And he’s got the leadership all good floor generals need. At 6’0″, he’s got the build to compete against the most talented guards in the state. Though he might be considered undersized by some, he makes up for this with his dog mentality on defense. One of the scrappiest guards I’ve seen all season. Gets up close and personal on the ball, fights through screens like a man on a mission, and boxes out like there’s no tomorrow. Underrated rebounder on both ends of the floor. Simply put, this guy is a floor general on offense. Real good execution off the pick and roll. Always makes the extra pass and knows where his shooters are at all times. While Stadler is a pass-first kind of guy, don’t think he doesn’t know how to put the ball in the basket. Expect him to be more aggressive at the rim and take on more of a scoring role this summer. Proving himself as a consistent scorer is how his stock will continue to rise. Expect Kobie Stadler to take a big leap with his game this summer and be ready to roll in his last season with the Cavaliers come October.
Coming off an NCISAA 2-A state championship with the Burlington School, big Ty Outlaw is one of the fastest-rising names in the state. At 6’8″, his size and athleticism are the foundational pieces of his game that set him over the edge. One of the first things you notice about Outlaw is his comfort with his body. One of the most graceful bigs in N.C. Moves his feet exceptionally well for someone with his build. Is disciplined when defending down low. Doesn’t let opposing players draw fouls. Gets a ton of easy second-chance buckets off the glass. Comfortable with creating plays from the high post. Shot still needs work and maybe a bit of tweaking with mechanics, but has improved to the point where defenders can not defend a few feet behind. A problem on defense. His length attributes for an abundance of easy blocks and rebounds that turn into fast break offense. One thing that needs to be cleaned up is sticking with plays. Tends to get beat off the dribble. Would love to see him work on his ability to react and recover in time to still make big-time plays on the defensive end of the floor.
Sticking with the Burlington School for a second, another guy whose stock is bound to rise even higher is Joshua Randolph Joshua Randolph 6’7″ | SF TheBurlingtonSchool | 2024 State NC . The 6’7″ wing is one of the most intriguing prospects in the entire class of 2024. What sets him apart is his ability to run the floor. He’s got the size and length of a true big and the athleticism and speed of a wing. Excels out in transition. Unselfish with the rock. Makes the right play at the right time. An additional piece to his game that should have the attention of college programs is his ability to shoot the ball, especially from three. Real smooth, good-looking shot. High release. Can let it fly off a screen or create something off the dribble. Expect Joshua Randolph Joshua Randolph 6’7″ | SF TheBurlingtonSchool | 2024 State NC to have a standout summer and gain the attention he deserves from big-time coaches and programs.
RJ Robinson RJ Robinson 6'2" | CG Anson | 2024 NC
RJ Robinson RJ Robinson 6'2" | CG Anson | 2024 NC
RJ Robinson RJ Robinson 6’2″ | CG Anson | 2024 NC is a guy that has excelled in his position as a role player so far in his 2-year stint with Burlington Christian Academy. With that being said, this kid is on the come-up. With some key departures leaving the program, this new-look royals team is looking for someone to step up and cement themselves as the starting point guard for this ball club. RJ Robinson RJ Robinson 6’2″ | CG Anson | 2024 NC is that dude. Despite a smaller build, Robinson is one of the most physical guards you’ll come across. He’s strong. He’s broad. And most notably, he is not afraid to jump with guys who have a solid six inches on him. He’s the type of fundamentally sound, old-school guard any program would be lucky to have. His court vision sets him apart. He’s unselfish with the ball. Despite being a pass-first kind of guy, he has a good feel for when it’s his time to attack the rim. Real consistent shooter from every distance. Expect Robinson to prove the doubters wrong with a standout summer followed by an even better Junior season.
