The event featured teams from all over the east coast and was chock full of talent for all levels, with college coaches from all over in attendance.
Here’s a look at part one some of the many standouts from the New England teams in attendance.
Azmar Abdullah Azmar Abdullah 6'2" | CG Vermont Academy | 2024 State NLG | 6’3” PG | BCRI 17U
Abdullah had another great showing after being a breakout player at Pitt last weekend, and he even picked up a D1 offer from New Hampshire and had a number of coaches following him this weekend. The 6’3” lead guard is a natural playmaker off the bounce who can create space and knock down shots from multiple levels while making others better as well. He is smooth off the bounce and scores it efficiently, he is a natural leader and he controls the game and makes winning plays.
Hassan Washington | 6’8” PF | BCRI 17U
Washington was one of the top unsigned seniors in attendance, as the 6’8” forward was a load to deal with in the paint and showed the ability to stretch the floor too. He’s a physically intimidating big who clogs the lane defensively and clears out space to rebound and finish offensively. He can step out and shot the ball well from deep, he was a good screener and he did the dirty work to help his team win too.
Luke Soden Luke Soden 6'4" | SG Bedford | 2024 NLG | 6’3” WG | Middlesex Magic HGSL 17U
Soden was one of a number of Middlesex players that played well as he helped lead them to the semifinals and had a big showing against PSA’s 16s in the game. He’s a highly skilled and smart player who knows how to work off the ball to get open and is a very good team defender who is in help constantly. He sets his feet quickly and has effortless range from deep, he showed the ability to get to the lane and get to the line often and he scored it efficiently against high level competition all weekend.
Timmy Mulvey | 5’11” PG | Middlesex Magic HGSL 17U
It’s hard to watch Mulvey and not love what you see, as the 5’11” lead guard is a tough nosed floor general who doesn’t look the part but gets the job done. He’s a strong and tough kid who will stick his nose in defensively, and he gets downhill and has great vision and playmaking as well. He shoots the ball well from deep and gets to spots in the midrange where he can make shots too.
Lorrenzo Carrera | 6’5” WF | Middlesex Magic HGSL 17U
Carrera was another all-around wing who had a good weekend for the Magic, as he was a mismatch who played well on both ends of the floor. He has good positional size and is strong for his position so he can guard in the post and on the perimeter, and he’s a good finisher through traffic too. He moves well off the ball with back cuts and reads screens well, he can shoot it from deep and he is a high IQ player who makes the right play more often than not.
