Events like the PH Circuit’s Midwest Melee gave players a chance to showcase their skills with college coaches having their eyes and ears on the action. A lot of athletes from Michigan showed why they should be recruited as next level players. They had a “Recruit Me” type of weekend. Let’s look at some of those players.
Cabana is probably one of the best athletes in the state. He averaged 13.6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game over the weekend with DTO Elite.
Highlights
Yea, here he is again. The Hardwood Midwest star had himself another weekend. He scored, rebounded, and dished the ball off at a high level. Dugener even notched a 22 point and 10 rebound double-double.
Spratt showed off his game with All Ohio Select over the weekend. He had a very impressive 17 point game in which he was smooth and athletic, showing that he could both shoot as well as score in traffic.

Israel Anthony
Anthony showed that he can be a highly influential player on both ends of the floor. While he had a 12 point game, it was his defense that ruled the weekend. Anthony showed that he could stop his man off the bounce as well as anticipate shots and block them.
Corbin Heckman
Corbin Heckman
Heckman had a statement game this weekend. He really showed what he has to offer and that he’s a player to keep an eye on from here on out. Heckman had a 16 point and 10 rebound double-double.
Kuiper put on a show with Greg Grant Basketball 2024 over the weekend. He’s a perimeter star that next level coaches should definitely have on their radar. Kuiper’s weekend was highlighted by a 29 point explosion in a tight win where every one of those buckets was critical.

Kaelin Tate
Tate played up at the PH Circuit’s Midwest Melee and he made a loud statement. College coaches, this young man looks like he’ll be on your radar soon enough. Tate had a staggering 12 assists in 1 game.
Boose was doing Boose things for the Michigan Playmakers 17u squad. He’s an elite athlete that opponents never want to see in open space. Boose had a huge 25 points in an impressive 60-54 win against PSA Skills Academy.
Smythe was electric with Team Rose 3SSB at the PH Circuit’s Midwest Melee. All word seems to say that ‘one of the best shooters in the gym’ could be an accurate description. Smythe is, has been, and will be a game changer from behind the arc.
