While many ranked players are making headway, there are some unranked players using their play to vie for future rankings spots. We follow up our Unranked Players article, with a quick look at some of the unranked prospects poised to break into the next rankings.
Rodriguez has been scrapping and clawing his way for the Rams for a few year’s now, and is on the cusp of reaching the rankings for the first time. The jitterbug PG has shown that he can launch from deep, as well as get paint touches for his team.
I could envision Hulett playing a key role for Desert Oasis this year. He has the kind of frame that makes him a versatile defender, with the ability to defend interior and perimeter players alike. He also has enough skill, to make him an impact player on the offensive end.
Ndiaye is a transfer player that will figure high in the rankings, including perhaps a top 10 spot. With his size, and length there’s no question he’s a D1 prospect, the question now becomes what level and how high. He already has received some mid to high major offers this summer, with more perhaps on the way.
DO could be a program that makes some noise next season. The addition of Payne provides them with another long athletic player. The forward showed during the summer that he can impact games with his rebounding and transition finishing. A strong showing during HS month could propel him up the rankings ladder.
Bakindo was a revelation druing the April Bash. The long forward is quite bouncy, and he uses his bunnies to protect and finish at the rim. With Clark moving down to 4A he could be a huge part of a successful team, which would only help him rise this season.
Gayle has a chance to be one of the top newcomers in 4A. He has a powerful frame, is a R&J athlete and plays with a good motor. Do not count Losse out as a contender in 4A this season, as a player like Gayle only adds to their depth. If his is a part of their contending look for his ranking to rise throughout the season.
This kid has caught my eye every time I’ve watched him play. He’s got a lot of shiftiness and has shown a tremendous ability to finish around the rim. What has really made him a contender to enter the rankings is his willingness to take and make big shots for his team.
