Mehki Edwards of E1T1 (6’7 big from Irondale). Edwards has so many tools to be an outstanding player. He uses his size extremely well, has great footwork and even better hands and he’s quick to his move getting to space while using his strength to hold his man at bay. There were a lot of people that watched Edwards this weekend that talked about the talent that is there and if he can up his work rate he has a chance to be a really nice college basketball player.
Joey Fretheim Joey Fretheim 6'3" | SG Mounds View | 2024 State MN of Northstar Titans Brodeur (6’4 wing from Mounds View). Joey has been one of the best surprises of the 17u season. He scored 11.6 a game this past winter but never did we expect to be a go to scorer for the Titans at this high of level. Good? No question. But all first team event, certain 17u all state candidate? No. But that is what he is doing with one of the best mid-range touches I’ve seen this year. If he gets into you and then steps away the touch is so comfortable for him so you better be 6’9 with length or getting a good contest on Joey is not going to happen. And Joey plays hard so he gets hustle buckets. Saturday he had a 15 point/11 rebounds game and a 25 point/9 rebound game. The work rate is there.

of Minnesota Chill (6’7 2023 big from Champlin Park). For starters, Molley has a lot of things physically that the modern game loves: length, runs well, lateral quickness, quick off his feet. The two items holding him down a bit in terms of prospect potential are likely experience on the floor and being a tad shorter than some other bigs. Well, this Saturday

and he caught, turned quickly into his move, and touched in shots five different times. If you can score five times in the post against a nationally ranked seven footer I think those physical abilities can make up for an inch or two. Eye opening performance from Kamara.

of Sanford Sports Academy (6’4 2024 guard from Harrisburg). Jacoby might have driven home in a big blue van because he delivered to teammates all day Saturday allowing for comfortable shot attempts. In the first Saturday game Mehrman had ten assists helping Braeden Vanbockern to a six make at the arc, 22 point game. Mehrman is a big guard so he also rebounded well grabbing nine boards in the two games combined and when he finally did take a shot, it was a flow of foul shots finishes. Loved how he passed the ball for his team Sunday.

of Real Phenom (6’0 2024 guard from Breck). I think one of my biggest winter regrets was not getting over to see Breck to be more aware of Hanif and his team leading offensive totals this season. This spring Hanif has been outstanding. I am big on ball pressure and Hanif does that incredibly well with Grayson,

. Saturday he was hounding guards again and doing a great job with the other guards listed moving the basketball so Real Phenom consistently got good attempts. Hanif hit double digits in the game I watched as he continues to be a catalyst for what this team is doing.

of Real Phenom (6’2 2024 guard from Blake). Real Phenom did a fantastic job this weekend of pressuring the ball on defense, getting up in transition, and when they didn’t have transition chances, they moved the basketball. Grayson was at the heart of all of that putting up double digits in the first two games which became close game wins over Rise and
Starks Elite
. For Grayson everything was an attack to the rim and the defense could not rotate to him to make a play on the ball.

of Sandford Sports Academy (6’2 2024 big from Sioux Valley). South Dakota State is getting a worker that I came away highly impressed with. Love his rebounding effort but it’s about who he is that makes him the rebounder. The guy sprints up and down the floor ahead of everyone, he’s the guy that makes the first contact with opponents meeting them where he wants to, he’s the player with good footwork on ball screens and Alec is the player that does what the offense asks for in screens, ball movement, and activity. Also shot well from the foul line on Saturday including a 15 point second game.
