Everything about Bentley says ‘college basketball player’, including the way he played this past weekend. The strong and sturdy athlete played, and has been playing, with a high basketball IQ. The Hopson Elite 17u star has been so consistent and steady. Bentley is the type of player that will regularly touch every corner of the stat sheet. He’s even shown marked improvement in his passing the spring.
Cameron Gunsell
Cameron Gunsell
Gunsell has had a breakout summer of sorts with Hardwood Midwest. He was a force on the offensive end over the weekend as teams struggled to contain him. Gunsell’s solid offensive footwork and tenacity under the rim proved to be a tough combination for defenders. He could definitely be deemed a head turner at the Prep Hoops Circuit’s Havoc In The Heartland.
Westerdale is a spark plug type of player. He can shoot the ball and score it at an elite level and can put up points in bunches. Over the weekend, Westerdale looked like one of the best scoring lead guards in the state. And in my opinion, he is just that. He lit up the Adidas May Classic, averaging 19.5 points per game at the event. College coaches are going to want to see him play and make a move ASAP.
Highlights
Here in Michigan, we all pretty much know how good of a basketball player and how talented McKenney is. Top 10-20 in the country is very realistic if you ask me. Well, with his play this spring in the EYBL, he’s a national story to say the least. Let’s start with the fact that he’s averaging about 20 points per game. Now, remember that he’s playing up. That’s simply a gamer right there.
Thompson continues to make noise with the Tar Heels Elite 2024 squad. His trend of spending the weekend looking like an athletic playmaker continued again this weekend. Thompson showed that he can put the ball on the floor and create his own look when the situation calls for it. The best thing might be that his jumper looks like it just keeps getting better and better.
