SubscribeThis past weekend was the annual AAU State Tournament brought to you by the Kentucky Basketball Commission. Here’s a look at some top performers from the event.
Brax is going to have high expectations on him for his Senior season at Owen County and if this past weekend is any indication, he may be up to the task. At 6’9, Ward had a big weekend and was among the best “bigs” in the event with his play over the course of two days.
Jeremiah is a player whose development has come a long way in the last 2 years and I’m not entirely sure he knows what his ceiling is yet. Godfrey flashed an improved skill level and knocked down threes more than once. It’s safe to say that the 6’7 forward’s stock is trending way up.
Stinebruner had a strong weekend where he shot the cover off the ball. Knocking down 50% of his threes and not missing a free throw in the narrow loss to the eventual state champs. Abram appears to have grown to 6’5 and with his academic profile, he should have a lot of college suitors.
One of the better guard prospects in the mountains in this 2024 class, Wardlow showed well for himself in Wilder over the weekend. His team fell in the semifinals to eventual runner up Moss Elite but MJ checked a lot of boxes up to that point when he finished each game with several points, assists, rebounds and steals.

Wahl has had a big Spring AAU season and he didn’t slow down this past weekend. Nolan impacts the game in a lot of ways with his scoring and rebounding but also with his motor. The 6’6 forward plays hard and has a chance to be a breakout performer in the 7th region in his Senior season.
