Just before lunch on the first of May, @PrepHoopsTN was able to catch up with 16u Head Coach Aaron Morrison, who talked glowingly about the remarkable Sunday performance by [player_tooltip player_id='1140778' first='Cooper' last='Haynes'] (Stars UA 17u).

[player_tooltip player_id='1140778' first='Cooper' last='Haynes'] scored 47 points Sunday. "[player_tooltip player_id='1195250' first='Jett' last='Montgomery'] had 19 points and hit the game-winning layup with about two seconds left," said Coach Aaron Morrison. "It was unbelievable. I mean, the final score was 90-88 and he made 7 3's. A lot were contested, tough shots. If he got it off, then it was probably going in that game. It was honestly one of the best offensive performances I have ever seen in AAU."

Friday Head Coach Dess Culpepper and Fastbreak 17u played All Georgia Elite at OnTheRadar's event. The team is not deep in numbers, and the statistics reflect the anticipated high minutes and above average skill.

Chris Alford scored 7 points with two made 2's and one made three-pointer. Strong arms.

[player_tooltip player_id='1942631' first='Ashton' last='Munson'] hit five three-pointers in the game. Wonderful passer. Wonderful patience. Much improved outside shooter. Good natural and earned strength.

[player_tooltip player_id='1942636' first='Kyler' last='Akin'] was very good. He scored (2 3's, 7 2's) 20 points with a calmness. A silkiness. For the last few years Rhea County has been pretty impotent in the regular season. Kyler is changing that. The gifted scorer plays with tempo and elegance. On-ball defense is probably the area he must address before college.

[player_tooltip player_id='1939813' first='Bryce' last='Dupree'] is best as a catch-and-shoot guy. Good heft, but a little stiff long-term. Dupre is maybe a faceup four at the NAIA level? Can hit the outside shot given time and he is reliable at the free throw line. It would be nice if he earned his way there more often. Bryce scored 10 points (2 3's).
