Trenton Bodkins

Trenton Bodkins is an exciting player for Philip Barbour in West Virginia. Bodkins is an active wing that has great court awareness. Bodkins is a top-notch scorer that can hit from deep and finishes well in the paint Bodkins shooting touch is his main weapon. He can fill it up from deep, but he also has an above average pump fake and isn’t afraid to finish over bigs in the paint. He rebounds well for his size and is a solid athlete all around. Philip Barbour will surely be expecting big things from Bodkins in the upcoming season.
Jake Pate
Jake Pate
Jake Pate is a quick and elusive point guard for Greenbrier East High School in Lewisburg, West Virginia. Pate is undersized but is aggressive and competes every play he is on the court. On the defensive end, he constantly has his hands out causing deflections and creating turnovers for his team. Pate is extremely fast and can get to the hole and finish over bigs. He can score at all 3 levels and is a playmaker on the offensive end. Pate will defintely be a player to watch coming into next season for Greenbrier East.

Maleke Smith
Maleke Smith is a playmaking point guard for Jefferson High School in Shenandoah Junction, West Virginia. Smith is extremely quick and always seems to make the correct play on the court. Smith is a floor leader that leads by example. He can take you off the dribble, pull up from mid-range and is definitely a 3pt threat. When Smith isn’t scoring the ball, he is adept at finding the open man. Smith gets to the hole with ease and once the defense collapses, he is skilled in finding the open man. Smith uses his quickness to set the tone on defense. His on the ball pressure sets his team up with deflections, steals and creates multiple turnovers a game for the opposition. Smith is an exciting prospect, and we at Prep Hoops can’t wait to watch what he does next season for Jefferson High School.

Daniel Osasjohua
Daniel Osasjoshua is a 6’1″ point guard for Greater Christian Beckley High School in West Virginia. Osasjoshua is an electric quick guard that can penetrate the paint and get anywhere he wants on the floor. He can score at all 3 levels on the court and is a quick decision maker with the ball in his hands. Defensively, Osasjoshua is versatile, and his pressure is nonstop on the ball. His skill will be on display in the 2023/2024 season as Greater Beckley High School is expecting big things from Osasjoshua.
Jamel Floyd
Jamel Floyd
Jamel Floyd is a 6’1″ point guard from Bluefield High School in West Virginia. Floyd is a pass first point guard that sets his team up when he is on the floor. Floyd has a high basketball IQ and doesn’t tend to make many mistakes. His defense is consistent, and his on-ball pressure is good. Floyd can score at all 3 levels on the court, but he is known for his passing. Floyd is ready to help lead his team and set the bar for a successful season for Bluefield High School in 2023/2024.
