Bell led Walsh Jesuit to a district championship and had an impressive Junior season. A skilled guard, Bell plays under control and rarely makes a mistake with the ball in his hands. During the playoffs we got to see some of Bell’s best scoring ability with some big time shooting performances from the outside. You can check Bell out with Midwest BC Cleveland on the Prep Hoops Circuit all spring and summer, a team that scholarship and Division III coaches will likely have close eyes on.
Lewis first came onto the scene at the Prep Hoops 250 Expo in the fall and followed that up with an impressive Junior season. I always liked the defensive effort and tools that Lewis has with quick feet and a good body. I also thought Lewis took some steps as a scorer this high school season, with a 36-point game as his new career high. Lewis will be playing with OBC this spring and summer on the Under Armour circuit, this will give him the chance to further boost his stock.
A 3-point sniper, Murphy has the 3-and-D ability that a lot of college programs are looking for. Toledo St John’s made a miracle run to the state final four and Murphy played a key role with his floor spacing and defensive impact from the guard position. With star Cj Hornbeak graduating, Murphy could be taking a leadership role on the team as a senior. I’ll be curious to see if Murphy shows me any new skills when defenses will likely focus on slowing him down next season.
The second player from Midwest BC Cleveland to make this article, Fuline is a two sport stud at Massillon Jackson as he also stands out on the gridiron. Fuline helped his team to win a share of the federal league championship this past winter and impressed me at Midwest Basketball Club’s showcase to open the month of April. A good shooter from the outside, Fuline was knocking down open shots and didn’t turn the ball over.
Another 3-and-D specialist, Abrass was crucial in Hilliard Bradley ending the season on such a high note. Abrass has a quick release and is consistent when he gets his feet set on the outside. Coming from the Hilliard Bradley system that requires intense defensive focus and effort, Abrass will be ready for a college programs attention to detail for scouting and help-side defense. Projected to be one of the best teams in central Ohio next season, Abrass will look to help take Hilliard Bradley further in the playoffs as a senior.
