Olympus
Dutch is one of the deadliest shooters in the state and the length really helps him. He has range and he is a player that is a hunter. He can go out and hunt for shots. His movement off the ball has really improved as teams try to face-guard him and he has to come off of pin-downs and screens. He has D1 positional size at the SG position. Look for him to lead the state in scoring next year.
This Duo has been at it for 4 years as both players got significant playing time as freshman and should have amazing senior years as they do return. Jordan is always among the best when it comes to assisting and distributing. He is a player that brings so much value to the team that he does not go out very often, one of the players in the state that has a non-stop motor. Jordan can get buckets in the mid-range and he can shoot but he is a creator out on the floor and he racks up steals with the way he reads the game. That is one of the reasons college coaches really like him.
Alta
Ace has always been somewhat of a game changer because he possess some of the best wiggle as a lead guard. This kid knows how to use angles as well as that change of speed that allows him to get to his spots. He has one of the coldest mid-range games. He uses floaters, push shots and fade always and he makes them look easy. Him and Jaxon Johnson Jaxon Johnson 6'8" | SF Alta | 2024 State #106 Nation UT made for a killer inside and outside combo. The both can hurt you inside and out in different ways.
Jaxon had a big breakout year that not only started in the summer but he was able to get quicker off the dribble and that range is elite. Jaxon is a tough matchup because he does play a lot out in the perimeter. That pulls out other bigs out of their comfort zone and if they can’t move their feet he will make a quick move and get to the rim. Inside he punishes smaller defenders. This duo will be tough to stop next year.
Cottonwood
Chris was one of those premier players in the Class of 2024 that has so much potential. He was able to realize a lot of that potential this year while helping Cottonwood to one of its best seasons in a long time. Chris is locked in and his shot was falling and that athletic play making ability is off the charts. One of the higher projected players and should be a beast next season.
Breakout senior year got him a lot of looks and was able to pull some offers and he has recently committed to Treasure Valley College in Idaho. Makhar was dynamic and he was a play maker. He knew how to use his body to shield off defenders as a lead guard and those strong moves to the basket. His passing ability was on full display as him and Chris Cox Chris Cox 6'7" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2024 State AZ connected many times on lobs and easy bucket opportunities.
