Team Thad 17u Begins EYBL Season Friday!

Tennessee's only EYBL program, Team Thad 17u, will debut their EYBL season this weekend. Since 2010 EYBL is Nike's top AAU circuit, and bluntly the best collection of players in our entire world. Though there are always changes year-to-year, EYBL tends to host around 50-60% of the players that eventually reach the NBA level. The resources historically delivered to the program directors made them the most aggressive recruiting, at times furtively paying parents and players to join established the reputation and that reputation currently does a lot of the heavy lifting to recruit the top players now.

Team Thad vs. Team Griffin (7 PM EST FRI)
Team Thad vs. NY Rens (9:30 AM EST SAT)
Team Thad vs. NW Rotary (5:00 PM EST Saturday)
Team Thad vs. City Rocks (12:30 PM EST Sunday)

Team Griffin originates in Oklahoma. Both the NY Rens and City Rocks are New York programs. City Rocks is from Albany, but they tend to have players from numerous up-state cities. NW Rotary was founded in Seattle.

Julius Thedford Julius Thedford 6'3" | SG Cordova | 2024 State #186 Nation TN is poised for a breakout summer. Julius is a strong outside shooter with ideal lift on the jumper.

February Thedford pulled in his first D1 offer as Little Rock offered. The wing can complete a floater and adds more than catch-and-shoot. As an easy riser, Thedford is a nasty threat even after a convincing pump fake and go.

Christian Alston Christian Alston 6'5" | SF Bartlett | 2024 State #319 Nation TN is a tallish wing with D1 potential. Lithe. Athletic. Defends two positions well.

Team Thad 17u also has a EYCL team with almost all Tennessee players, but that team will play off-sight and against non-EYBL teams. The EYCL is a brand new venture for NIKE, and hopefully it brings college coach eyeballs to our players involved.
