*Editorial Note- I am only including players that played in 16 U division. A lot of talented players played up an age level in the 17U division. I would encourage you to read previous reports for players like [player_tooltip player_id='1437577' first='Mason' last='Parker'] etc

First Team

[player_tooltip player_id='1437546' first='Darryl' last='Thompkins'] 5-10 East Kentwood Most likely the highest regarded player in the field as far as recruiting status. More than lived up to it all weekend. Not very big but is an extremely dynamic ball handler. Really stood out in his squads last game of the weekend. Against a Battle Creek Bulldawgz squad that featured a good backcourt (see below) He really controlled the contest on both ends of the court. Scored 26 points and got to the basket at will. Was a one man press break all game.

Easton Day 6-1 Mount Pleasant Day was the top player on a competitive REAL squad all weekend. Scored a bunch of points. However that only tells part of the story. Displayed an excellent all around game. While also getting his teammates involved. Kicked off the weekend with 22 points. Wrapped it up with a 21 point effort. Plays at an excellent developmental program in the regular season. Could be the next one up for an Oiler program that came up just short from a quarterfinal appearance this past year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1457697' first='Joseph' last='DeCasas'] 6-1 Pontiac Notre Dame Prep First of two players on the first team to lead his squad to an undefeated record. Filled it up all weekend on the offensive end. Standout contest was a 26 point outing against the Detroit Bulldogs. Opened the weekend with 18 in a win over Top 1 Basketball Club. The scoring was accented by the versatile way in which he did it. Scored in a wide variety of ways. Could form a nice backcourt duo with [player_tooltip player_id='1434095' first='Wade' last='Robinson'] in the upcoming year at Notre Dame.

[player_tooltip player_id='1887692' first='Trevor' last='Turnbull'] 6-2 Nordonia (OH) Akron area point guard led DG Warriors to an undefeated record on the weekend. Has good size already for the point. Plays with his head up and got teammates involved. Beyond the point guard skill set. Showed the ability to score the ball. Finished off the weekend with 22 points. Size made a him a plus defender as well.

LeBron Campbell 5-11 Battle Creek Lakeview Scoring point guard who played well in pick and roll situations. Was good at passing off the dribble. Honestly probably could have played a little more selfishly. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Began Sunday with 14 points in a loss against a BNB squad that featured an outstanding backcourt. Finished off the day with 18 points against an undefeated DG Warriors squad that was just as good in the backcourt. Despite the tough Sunday slate. Showed a lot of potential to look for in the next two years.

Second Team

[player_tooltip player_id='1438254' first='Leo' last='Perettie'] 5-10 Grosse Pointe North Decasas' backcourt partner with the Michigan Goonies. Perettie showed off a tight handle all weekend. Got to his spots easily. A nice float game allowed him to get shots off despite not being very big. Excelled with his his left hand despite being a righty.

Doug Schoenefeld 6-0 Clarkston Led Top 1 Basketball Club to a 3-1 record on the weekend. More impressive on Sunday as his squad was down to six players. I was impressed with his play Saturday night. Scoring 12 in a defeat of the Detroit Bulldogs. Prototypical Clarkston guard. Well schooled and fundamentally sound player.

[player_tooltip player_id='1440663' first='Dee' last='Bothwell'] 5-7 Muskegon Similar skill set to BNB backcourt teammate Thompkins. Just in a smaller package. Lightning quick with the ball in his hands. Penetrates without fear. A lot of minutes are opening in the Big Red backcourt next year. It will be interesting to see what his upcoming role will be with the defending Division I finalists.

Bradyn McGill 6-6 Battle Creek Lakeview We'll wrap up the all tournament teams with two bigs featuring intriguing potential. McGill is an old school post who ran with the Battle Creek Bulldawgz. Has a wide base and thick upper body. Is not going to be moved off the block if he catches it deep. Showed a soft touch around the basket. Should form a good duo for the Spartans in the next two years with Campbell (see above)

Lorenzo Staley 6-7 Glenville (OH) The opposite body type of the post listed above. Cleveland area player has a long and very lanky frame. Accordingly finished easily around the rim all weekend. Still appears to be developing on the offensive end. Competed hard defensively and had some nice blocks. A lot of upside with this prospect.
