How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season?rn-Our team had a strong season, likely the best in school history, with a sixth-place finish at state. I feel I played my role well as a sophomore starter well, behind three All-Conference players. We had a very balanced starting five.
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?rn-Our biggest obstacle throughout the season was injuries. As a small school team with limited depth, having any starter out presented a huge challenge for us.
What do you think you improved most on the court?rn-I improved my defense a lot this season, always guarding the top guard on the other team. Some of my favorite memories this season are when I was matched up with the best guards in the state.
What are you looking to improve before next season?rn-I am looking to improve my general playmaking ability, as next season I will need to be the primary ball handler and scorer.
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season? Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes?rn- Jake Shuey Jake Shuey 6’4″ | SF Overlake | 2023 WA stood out the most to me this season. He was the most dependable scorer on our team and received some MVP votes in our conference (Emerald Sound). Alec Odell was another important piece of our team, as a Senior Point Guard and Captain. Next year, we will lose four senior starters. One teammate who could have a breakout season is rising Freshman Derek Li.

How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season?rn-As a team I think we perform very well for our amount of experience at the Varsity level. Lots of younger guys being depended on. Personal I felt like there’s still things I need to work of for my game. But overall felt like I had a great season. There’s not as much slack given to me as a sophomore then there was as a freshman. A lot more pressure to score the ball and to be able to play full games without coming out!
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?rn-I think our biggest obstacle this year that we had was our experience. Wasn’t to many guys that saw the Varsity floor last year, so was all kinda new to them. But as the season went on we all started to gain more chemistry together and started to play overall better games!
What do you think you improved most on the court?rn-One thing I feel like I improved on from my freshman year to my sophomore year was not being so one dimensional. Not just relying on my 3 point shot. Using all the different way to score. Weather that was me driving for a layup, pulling up for a mid range jumper or shooting a 3. I feel like I had a more overall balance to my scoring!
What are you looking to improve before next season?rn-As a team I’m looking for how much more experience we are going to have! There a lot more guys playing aau basketball then there ever has been. So really looking forward to how much the team improves in the offseason!
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season? Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes?rn-I feel like this year 2 players on my team that has a really good year was Hunter and Talon. Hunter wasent expected to score a lot of points every game, but was more relied on for rebounds and his defense. Still scored when he needed to tho! Another one was Talon. Wasent really known or talked about much starting the season, but very quick teams started to figure out that he was a very good shooter. So game would feel like he wasent missing from 3! For a breakout season I think Taran and Jacob. They are going to be seniors next year, and both are playing AAU this year. So looking forward to see how much they improve from that.

How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season?rn-As a team we always could’ve done better, coming up short and losing 1st round was disappointing. There were good stretches in the season and bad but that comes with the game. Personal performance was okay, making First Team All-Metro with 4 other D1 guys is cool but not being able to lead my team further in the tournament was a let down
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?rn-Our biggest obstacle was ourselves, we could never click as a team and play together.
What do you think you improved most on the court?rn-Something I improved on during the season was my shooting ability, and finishing at the rim over bigger defenders.
What are you looking to improve before the next level?rn-Getting to open spots in the mid range and improving my strength and foot quickness.
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season? Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes?rn-Some players that stood out were Ryan Mpouli Ryan Mpouli 6’4″ | SG Rainier Beach | 2024 CO , earning DPOY for the league in his first year. Players I see having a breakout year? A lot of the younger guys, Patrice Mpouli Patrice Mpouli 6’2″ | SG Hamilton | 2026 State AZ , Kaden Powers Kaden Powers 6’5″ | SG Rainier Beach | 2025 State #380 Nation WA , Jeremiah White Jeremiah White 6’5″ | SF Rainier Beach | 2025 State WA they have more opportunity with the ball in their hands now since a few guys are leaving.
