After just one night of Sectional play we already have upsets, buzzer beaters, and plenty of other excitement. Now, we get to do it all again. Similar to the first Thursday and Friday of the NCAA Tournament, the Tuesday and Wednesday night games of Sectional basketball constitute what essentially is a statewide holiday in Indiana. Let's take a look at some of the top matchups around the state for Wednesday evening.

Sectional 9 @ Muncie Central: Anderson (19-4) vs. Greenfield-Central (21-1)

Sectional 8 and Sectional 10 get a lot of the statewide attention, but Sectional 9 at Muncie Central is awfully good in its own right this year. There are two 20-win teams and four more that won at least 14 games during the regular season. Wednesday night will feature an excellent first round matchup between 19-4 Anderson and Class 4A #10 Greenfield-Central who enters with a 21-1 record. Watching two of the top scorers in the state battle it out between [player_tooltip player_id='1391283' first='Ahmere' last='Carson'] and Marian signee [player_tooltip player_id='1049171' first='Dylan' last='Moles'] will be worth the price of admission. Whichever team wins is hardly out of the woods in terms of cutting down the nets in Sectional 9, but it will certainly be an impressive victory. The 6:00 game here between Mount Vernon (Fortville) and host Muncie Central will be a good one as well.

Sectional 10 @ Warren Central: Lawrence North (17-7) vs. North Central (13-8)

Over the years this has been one of the most exciting matchups to look forward to in the post season. If you were naming blue blood programs in the state of Indiana you would certainly think about Coach Jack Keefer at Lawrence North and Coach Doug Mitchell at North Central. Those two Hall of Fame coaches will not be walking out of the locker room at Wednesday night, but these are still talented teams. Sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='1296979' first='Azavier' last='Robinson'] has had a fantastic season for the Wildcats alongside junior backcourt mate [player_tooltip player_id='1158213' first='Kobi' last='Bowles']. As for North Central, 6'6" unsigned senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='868259' first='Joey' last='Brown'] is the player to watch. This will be a fun battle in the always tough Sectional 10.

Sectional 11 @ Perry Meridian: Southport (14-9) vs. Ben Davis (26-0)

Back on November 30th Southport almost ended Ben Davis' undefeated season before it really even began. The Cardinals, led by a strong game from unsigned senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='935723' first='Anthony' last='Dancler'], took the Giants to overtime before falling 55-52. Now, Ben Davis is 26-0 and just six games away from the first undefeated state championship season since 2018 Warren Central. They have a tough first round matchup though against a talented, and veteran Cardinals team. The depth of Ben Davis though should still win out. Valparaiso signee [player_tooltip player_id='1042497' first='Zane' last='Doughty'] is a difference maker inside and then a plethora of guards led by [player_tooltip player_id='1273713' first='Sheridan' last='Sharp'], [player_tooltip player_id='1160716' first='Clay' last='Butler'], [player_tooltip player_id='1158204' first='K.J.' last='Windham'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1373105' first='Mark' last='Zackery'] make it very hard to keep up with the Giants. Watching Ben Davis begin their quest journey to Gainbridge is worth tuning in for.

Sectional 47 @ North Knox: Paoli (18-5) vs. Linton-Stockton (23-1)

After a good first round matchup in Sectional 47 on Tuesday night that saw South Knox take down Sullivan, the fans in southwestern Indiana will be treated to another fun contest on Wednesday evening. Class 2A #1 ranked Linton-Stockton looks to begin their quest to Gainbridge Fieldhouse against 18-5 Paoli. The Rams are led by high-scoring sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='1297025' first='Fletcher' last='Cole']. For the Miners, Central Florida signee [player_tooltip player_id='868240' first='Joey' last='Hart'] leads the way alongside fellow senior [player_tooltip player_id='935736' first='Logan' last='Webb'] and junior forward [player_tooltip player_id='1158180' first='Braden' last='Walters']. There is likely too much firepower on the Linton sideline for Paoli to pull off the upset, but this is a good test for the state's #1 2A team to begin the tournament.
