Walker Asp – Palmer – 2024
Asp brings a unique blend of defensive versatility at 6’5, forcing opponents into tricky decisions. The junior wing has continued to increase his volume of jumpers, even attempting a few pull-ups from beyond the arc. A pretty wiry physique, Asp is mobile enough to matchup against ones, twos, and threes. The forward is one of the more potent shot blockers in his class, this event was no different. His help side awareness is another key trait, being prepared to stunt drivers. His continued growth as a playmaker with the ball will have a massive impact on his upside. Through his junior year, Asp has put up 11.1 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game while knocking down 36% of triples. Keep tabs on the small forward, his progression over the last 18 months has seen rapid developments.
Kendall Gurule Kendall Gurule 6'0" | SG Sand Creek | 2024 State CO – Sand Creek – 2024
There is no doubt Gurule sets the tone through his quick pace of play on both sides. The 6′ guard is an athletic finisher around the rim, capable contorting his body to score through contests. Possessing a first step, there is little Gurule needs to do to get the initial advantage versus point of attack defenders. Possessing a fairly strong frame, he is able to hold his ground from bumps by backcourt threats. Through the junior’s season at Sand Creek, he has put up 11.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. His upside as a facilitator cannot go overlooked, given his natural quickness.
Carson Keach Carson Keach 6'2" | SG Ponderosa | 2024 State CO – Ponderosa – 2024
Keach proved to be one of the best perimeter defenders from this event, given his sturdy frame and quick feet. The junior guard held up walling off opposing playmakers without fouling. Another aspect of Keach is his downhill playmaking, proving dependable getting downhill with a couple hang dribble crossovers. He was active crashing the glass for offensive rebounds, grabbing multiple per game. Through his junior year with Ponderosa, Keach posted 14.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2.1 steals per game.
Doren Sacha – Thomas Jefferson – 2024
Sacha did his part to deter opponents at the point of attack, staying physical all the way through opposing drives. The junior guard does not mind contact on either end of the floor, recovering and staying active however possible. Sacha has a quick first step, getting him the initial advantage on quite a few trips to the rim. The guard also showcased quick instincts when opponents tried grabbing the ball, immediately throwing up the arm to draw a foul. Through the junior’s season with Thomas Jefferson, he has posted 8.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. Overall shiftiness with the ball going either direction will be an essential trait to Sacha’s upside.
