He had 8 teams of around 7-8 on a team for 60 total players. Many brand new players were on hand and some trying to gain some exposure and competition.
Here were some of the Sophomore, Freshman and 8th grade standouts of the showcase (Part-1)
John Fahrendorf John Fahrendorf 6'3" | SG St. Mary's | 2026 State AZ St. Mary’s (Pictured)
A bigger scoring guard with a pretty stroke from the three point line. He has a smooth release from mid-range and is one of the best in the class from distance. He constantly moves to relocate to get open and looks about an inch or two taller.
Mayom Mayom Mayom Mayom 6'7" | SF Canyon International Academy | 2027 State AZ Dream City Christian International
One of the top prospects regardless of class showed out. He is a super long wing with great size and has a smooth gait. He shoots it easily from the three point line and covers a lot of ground on defense. He can rim run and block shots. Only in 8th grade and played up with no problem.
Paul Osaruyi Paul Osaruyi 6'10" | PF Canyon International Academy | 2027 State AZ Dream City Christian International
Another top shelf eighth grade prospect moves well from end to end. He can hit the three, take a ball off the glass and go coast to coast. He dunks it easily and looks the part of a future college player.
Brock Steele Brock Steele 6'1" | SF Seton Catholic | 2026 State AZ Seton Catholic
A combo forward who can play inside and out. He has natural toughness and is very good with creating his own offense. He scores on layups, euro steps, he can hit the catch three and runs the floor for transition buckets. He will chase rebounds and bring his lunch pail to bang inside.
Bryson Krueger II Bryson Krueger II 6'2" | SF Basha | 2026 State AZ Basha
A long wing forward who can shoot the three point shot. He has a high arcing shot that gets good ball rotation and plays the passing lanes. He is a smart passer and plays the right way. Once he fills in, he will be tougher to handle.
Kenneth Hill Kenneth Hill 6'4" | SG Sunrise Mountain | 2025 State AZ Sunrise Mountain
A thicker guard can get to the rim with his handle and toughness. He is very active on defense with blocking shots, collecting steals and he rebounds well for a guard. He has decent size and he can make perimeter jumpers to the three. He should get more playing time next year with a very old current team with 8 seniors.
Santiago Leyva Santiago Leyva 6'4" | PF Dysart | 2026 State AZ Millennium
A sturdy framed power forward has soft hands. He scores it easily in the post with counter moves and advanced post footwork. He has a soft touch around the rim and he will crab dribble and create his own offense. He rebounds well and plays hard.
Damien Tillman Damien Tillman 5'10" | SG Willow Canyon | 2026 State AZ Willow Canyon
DJ is a fearless scoring guard who can rattle off perimeter jumpers behind the three point line. He can catch and shoot plus even step back from the three point line.
