Using great athleticism and strength, Young is force when driving to the basket. He can go either way with the ball in his hand and is nearly unstoppable when he’s attacking in transition. With good feet and knack for the basketball he finds himself corralling plenty of boards. He’s a good ball-handler and playmaker for his size. And, using his solid frame, he’s able to muscle up opponents on the interior. Young is a gifted scorer that gets his buckets from just about everywhere on the floor.
Jahcobie Dean
Jahcobie Dean
Dean was one of the better ball-handlers I saw all day. He plays at a very fast pace but is always under control. His lightning quick first step allows him to blow by his defenders with ease before setting up the open man. At the basket, he’s very crafty and can finish around bigger defenders with no problem. The playmaking skills Dean possesses is elite. He’ll hit the three ball and often looks to his floater while he navigates the paint. Dean plays with great confidence and appears very comfortable at the helm of an offense.
Whether it’s in the half-court setting or on the break, opposing defenders have a very tough time staying in front of Camara, thanks to his great ball-security, speed, and strength. He is a smart decision maker when pushing the pace and is seemingly able to get to the rim at will. Camara applies heavy pressure on D both on and away from the basketball; good rotations help him attain steals. He uses his body extremely well which allows him to finish around taller defenders on offense and hold his ground while walling up bigs on defense. Camara has a great motor and plays with high energy.
Highlights
Malachi Hill
Malachi Hill
Hill displayed phenomenal guard skills at the MN Prospect Camp. He is a good shooter, he has really good vision as a passer, and keeps the ball on a string as a primary ball-handler. Hill plays with a great attitude and passion for the game. He plays with great confidence and poise. Hill’s more than a facilitator; crafty floaters and lay-ups and an extended range allow him to do well as a scorer. Defensively, Hill keeps his hands active and and does a nice job of keeping his opponent in front of him.
Adam Spanier
Adam Spanier
Despite being rather undersized for a post player, it seems as if Spanier finds a lot of success with his back-to-the-basket. He demonstrated wonderful touch and footwork and the ability to finish with either hand. The positioning from Spanier on both ends of the floor help him rebound, steal passes, and find easy buckets. Spanier plays the game hard and is often rewarded for his grit.
