We will start with the junior class and make our way down to the freshman. If you have a player who deserves recognition, please send @RossVDG14 a direct message on Twitter.
The 6-4 guard has elevated his game to a new level this season as he is scoring on a consistent basis. Williams averaged 17.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game for Sumner. His ability to create his own shot also took a step forward and has a high basketball IQ. Williams has taken visits with Florida State and Miami this year.
The 6-7 forward is a bucket getter as well as a rebounding machine. Taylor has size, length and great athleticism where he can play multiple positions. On the defensive end he has great footwork and body placement where he is in position to block shots or get rebounds when needed. He will be playing with SWFL Hoops Inc. as we gear into the Grassroots season.
The 6-0 combo guard is a floor general and plays with a high motor. This past season for Santa Fe Catholic, Darner increased his scoring average from 7.4 points to 13.4, as well as his shooting percentage where he shot 40 percent from the field this season. Darner is also a precision passer and knows when to make the right plays.
The 6-5 small forward is an underrated two-way player where his value can make a huge impact the next two seasons. Sanders averaged 16.0 points and 7.7 rebounds per game this season for Bell Creek Academy. The game that stood out to me was on December 14 against Brooks-DeBartolo where Sanders finished with 30 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. He is an aggressive defender and has a tendency to go get rebounds with kids bigger than him.
The 6-2 sophomore guard has a bright future ahead of him, as his game is mature beyond his years. Smith averaged 14.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game this season for Wiregrass Ranch. His high basketball IQ created opportunities on when to shoot or pass the ball, as he always made a big play whether the ball was in his hands or not. Look for Smith to share the point guard duties with Jordan Roque Jordan Roque 6’0″ | PG Wiregrass Ranch | 2024 FL for the Bulls next season.
