#2 A smooth ball handler. A terrific distributor of the ball. Possesses excellent court vision. He changes direction and speed as well as anybody in the city. Gets into the lane and can finish. Quick first step and displayed a nice pull up as well as the ability to shoot the three. Uses his dribble to create space and get his shot off.
#6 Players on LUHI from #1 -#8 in their rotation might be as talented as any program in the country. Jacob came off the bench for them this season and will be a starter for them next year. Great basketball body. Long and athletic. Can play above the rim. Possesses a smooth jump shot with good elevation. Explosive to the rim. His older brother and teammate Jayden has committed to UCONN for next season. He should follow him to a top D1 program as well when it is his time. Jacob and his teammates will be playing for a state title this week as well as the Geico invitational tournament championship the following week.
Highlights
#9 Kiyan has transferred to Long Island Lutheran. A lot of interests in Kiyan some of it due to his father being Carmelo. However all of the interest should be on Kiyan only. A very talented young versatile player. A smooth stroke from three, can get his own shot off or shoot it off the catch. Smooth release with the ball coming out of the hand soft with good arc. Can get to the rim and finish. Has he gets older he will add a little more strength to his frame and be even more of a force at the rim. A terrific talented player on his own merits.
#10 Halon plays with a lot of strength to his game. Has a high basketball IQ and great instincts not only for the play but to hunt rebounds. A player who can snag the rebound on the defensive end and lead and finish the break through contact. A hard worker on guarding and rim protecting.
#12 If you haven’t done your recruiting homework on Johnny you better get moving. A gritty guard. Fearless and tough. Has a terrific handle. He is able to split defenders with his quickness. Really good in tight spots maneuvers and weaves his way out of trouble. Excellent court vision. Outstanding shooter from three. Outstanding passer off the drive. Gets into the lane and scores or sets up a teammate for an easier bucket.
#13 Outstanding handle. Lightning quick. Extremely crafty getting to the rim. Can shoot the three from deep range, possesses an excellent side step or step back three. Changes speed and direction in a flash. Euro step in transition is outstanding. A scoring point guard who can take over games but realizes his job is to get his teammates involved as well.
#31. Jake made a big jump in these updated rankings. Has an excellent skill set. Smart savvy player finds the open spots on the floor. Can score inside or out . Can post up smaller guards or use his handle and pull up jumper to score in bigger players. He is flat out scorer of the ball.
