Kelly was a consistent player this season working mostly from the post area. He was the teams leading rebounder with 8.6, while being the teams go to guy in the paint averaging 14.4 per contest. He can function on the perimeter as well. He has a reliable shot 15ft and in. He runs the court well and can defend on the perimeter, and in the paint.
He’s one of NorCal’s better shooters in this class. Has a clean jump shot he can hit from mid-range off the dribble, a nice transition 3, and he uses a dribble or two to free himself up for 3’s. He has good fundamental skills, good vision for passing and he moves well without the ball. He can run point. 15.9pts per game
Highlights
He’s a two sport athlete (Football) who has raised his profile in the Sacramento Area. He helped lead the Dragons to the Division III Sac-Joaquin Section Championship. He averaged 14 points, 4.2 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1.7 steals. He’s a versatile player who contributes on both ends. He has the toughness you look for.
Ambidge was a key contributor on a team that went 26-8, 5-4 in arguably NorCal’s toughest league this season, the EBAL. He’s long at 6’7, and stronger then he looks. He gets out into transition and in open court looking to finish strong at the rim, or put up an improved 3pt shot. He takes it strong to the rim along the base line. He’ll help on the boards.
We’ll get a good look at the 6’4 point guard this spring and summer. He’s a big guard who contributes in multiple ways on his team. He handles ball pressure, has good vision and passing up top. He uses his body to get into the paint to shoot over defenders. He moves well off ball with a good shot at mid-range and behind the arc.
The 6’7 forward has a good frame to build up muscle. He’s much improved around the basket with power moves, drop steps, and paint jumpers, he’s good going up off two. He’ll go get rebounds out of his space, and go after blocks. He’s a bit raw but has a good upside to his game. He’s a double double guy at this level.
Highlights
The steady guard led his team to the CCS Open Division Title. He’s a good floor leader making sure to get others involved early and often. He’s a guard who can produce points with, or off the ball with his ability to dribble past, change speed, and create his own shot opportunities. He has good body control and knows how to maneuver his way into the paint for dishes, dumps and points. He has a good pull-up jumper, and 3pt range.
The 5’10 combo guard is fast, shifty and has slick moves to score the ball from different areas on the court. He plays on go pushing, and looking in transition with a chance to go coast to coast. He gets into the paint often for jumpers, he keeps defenders off balance. He can run a half-court offense with good vision and passing.
