Regional tournaments are almost over and there are hundreds of Seniors who already played their final game of high school basketball. Let’s take a look at the best post players in the final 2023 rankings. This does not include players in the top ten of the class overall as those have already been covered in another article.
Brooks took a small tumble down the rankings after an ACL tear ended his Senior season early. Caleb still has a lot of basketball left to play and could ultimately be more of a stretch 4 in college than the 5 man he’s shown most of his high school and AAU career. Don’t be surprised if Brooks signs somewhere this Spring and ends up making an impact as a freshman.
Sam likely has his best basketball ahead of him as his next stop in his career should afford him more opportunities to show what he can do than what he had to work with at Holy Cross. Gibson is a legit 7 footer and has shown that he can more fairly well around the bucket on both ends. Sam is an old school big man on offense but is likely to work his way into a good role and be a nice college player.
Barr has seen his stock rise rather quickly in the third region over the past couple of seasons. An impact player on both ends for the Tigers, Hunter is a good athlete with legitimate size. If he attends some unsigned Senior events, Hunter is likely to rack up the scholarships.
The only committed player on this list, David has been one of the unsung heroes for Trinity for the last several seasons. Pfeifer plays hard and with a high IQ. He’s selfless and impacts winning in multiple ways. He should have an impact at IU-Southeast.
Rose had a good high school career, scoring over 1,000 career points and pulling down several hundred rebounds. Ryan has also shown some ability to stretch the floor with his shooting. A bit of a late bloomer, the 6’8 Rose should have several good years of basketball at the next level.
