A two-sport stud, Benn is being recruited to play both football and basketball at the next level. A glue guy for Sonny Johnson’s squad, Benn makes important shots and more importantly, plays lockdown defense almost every game. Garfield Heights wins with their stellar defense and Benn is one of the most important guys on that side of the ball in NEO. If Benn decides to play college basketball, he will bring his defense, toughness and perimeter shooting to the next level.
A pure scorer, Fox scored a career-high 30 points in the only game I’ve gotten to see of Fox this season. His size plus scoring ability is impressive and Fox can score with either hand at the rim. I also was impressed with the shooting range Fox showed, knocking down some 3’s from a few feet behind the line. Fox is a player that Division III coaches should be looking at.
Candow is an undersized guard, but his scoring ability is quite impressive. Candow has the ball on a string and can isolate and create his own shot at a high level. He had a nasty step-back 3-pointer in the one game I caught of his this season and it was one of the filthiest individual moves I watched all season. Check out Candow if you are looking for a lead guard who can break defenders down off the dribble.
A sleeper out of NW Ohio, Henline was a standout on the Prep Hoops Circuit this summer. Henline can score the basketball, but his toughness was what really stood out when I watched him. Henline is a winner and pushing Spencerville to an excellent season and a high playoff seed. Scoring 17 PPG on 51/37/85 shooting splits and 3 rebounds plus 4 assists a night, there’s few players that stuff the stat sheet more than Henline. When you add Henline’s impressive grades to his on-court ability and you have a prospect that regional small college programs should be taking a strong look at.

Sandusky has been one of the top teams in Division II this season and the combo of senior guards Daylen Green Daylen Green 6’2″ | SG Sandusky | 2023 State OH and Moore have been key factors in that success. I was impressed with some of the flashy passes that Moore showed off when I watched him, keeping the defense guessing before finding an open teammate. Moore also is a tough shot maker off the bounce. Sandusky has prospects in both the 2023 and 2025 classes, small college coaches will want to check them out in the playoffs this season.
Highlights
Ronnebaum is a tough guard who plays off two feet and can knock down open shots. One of the more productive guards in central Ohio’s 2023 class, Ronnebaum just gets stuff done on the court. Capable of playing on the ball or as a spot-up guy in the corner, Ronnebaum’s versatility impressed me when I watched him. I think Olentangy is capable of an upset in the playoffs and they’ll need Ronnebaum to be as his best for that to happen.
Another smaller guard, Holliman is the only committed prospect to be featured in this article. Already headed to OAC powerhouse Heidelberg, Holliman is one of the more prolific small school scorers in the state. Difficult to keep in front of at the high school level, Holliman has had some huge games this season. Holliman was also a standout at the Prep Hoops 250 Expo this fall in Columbus.
