On Tuesday night I was at #19 Northland as they hosted and lost to #20 Reynoldsburg 59-58. Then on Friday, I went out to #13 St. Francis DeSales as they hosted and lost to #17 Grove City 67-43.
Gilbert has all the tools to be an extremely good player. He is listed as 6’6 with remarkably long arms. He has thick legs and needs to add some weight to his upper body but his athleticism covers up for it. He is bouncy and moves great for how big he is. Super coordinated. Gilbert showed on Friday night that he can be a remarkable rim protector. He was blocking a ton of shots and altered many by just jumping with his hands straight up. He absorbed contact very well. Also did a great on his second jump to get the rebound after making the offensive player miss. He also showed the ability to switch screens and guard multiple different positions.
Bridges had the most energy and passion in the gym on Tuesday. This kid could not have played any harder. He was flying around on defense and making hustle plays. He was great at communicating and showed great leadership qualities. He also made a huge difference for Northland on the offensive end with his shooting. He showed unlimited range and great confidence in his shot. He knocked down 7 threes and was crucial for being able to make the defense spread out to guard him. Giving attacking lanes for his teammates.
Campton Williams

Williams was huge for Grove City’s win over St. Francis DeSales on Friday night. He and Gilbert were differenc es. Gilbert was dominant on the defensive end and Williams was dominant on the offensive. He is only listed at 6’4, which he seems to be taller but is a big and strong guy that moves opponents out of the way. He was great at putting the people under the basket and finishing. He was absorbing contact very well. He lead their game in scoring and didn’t even shoot a jumper all game. He was getting offensive boards and was super efficient around the rim. Williams was the leader and difference for Grove City on Friday night.

Roland had the performance you’d expect a senior to have when his season is on the line. The kid was making a ton of hustle plays. Got a lot of second-chance points and was consistently and aggressive attack the basket for rebounds. Was throwing his body into contact for rebounds. Got multiple hustle buckets. Played his tail off defensively. He is a good athlete that has a long wingspan giving him the ability to guard multiple positions on Tuesday night abasing Reynoldsburg.
