The strongest region in the state of Georgia is Region 4-7A. Grayson initially was set to host, but court issues have shut down the gym for the foreseeable future, handing homecourt advantage to Newton. The one-seed is still up for grabs, Grayson playing Newton on Friday at Archer. Newton won their first meeting 54-43, but a 71-69 loss at Parkview has kept the door open for Grayson to take the top spot. [player_tooltip player_id='1059025' first='Jakai' last='Newton'] will be making his fourth appearance of the season, coming off a meniscus injury which has him on a minutes restriction. All-American [player_tooltip player_id='820274' first='Stephon' last='Castle'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1045878' first='MJ' last='Whitlock'] have helped the Rams to an 8-1 mark in region play. Grayson will have the size advantage inside with [player_tooltip player_id='1383021' first='Amir' last='Taylor'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1045086' first='Chad' last='Moodie']. [player_tooltip player_id='1131773' first='Gicarri' last='Harris'] scored 15 points in their first meeting. What we do know as far as the region tournament goes is the most interesting win or go-home game that is already set in stone will be four-seed Archer vs. five-seed Parkview. Archer grinded out a pair of close wins, 60-54 and 59-56 but Parkview is the state's most talented 11-12 team with Isaiah Wilkins leading the way, the sophomore sky rocketing up recruiting boards, possibly the state's number one 2025 at this point. [player_tooltip player_id='1054800' first='Mike' last='Matthews'] is a dynamic athlete while [player_tooltip player_id='1453933' first='Chasz' last='Holmes'] is a shot maker on the perimeter and [player_tooltip player_id='1453932' first='Adonai' last='Mussie'] makes life tough around the rim with his length. Archer's physical defense is problem for everyone. [player_tooltip player_id='1155729' first='Kahmare' last='Holmes'] averages 17.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2.3 steals while [player_tooltip player_id='1796872' first='Elijah' last='Davis'] is the team's best shooter, a 6-foot-4 swingman that is really good in the high post against the zone. Three-seed South Gwinnett plays six-seed Brookwood to make state. South Gwinnett is a gritty team with a strong backcourt consisting of veterans [player_tooltip player_id='1742101' first='Kendall' last='Walker'], [player_tooltip player_id='873084' first='Jet' last='Horne'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1742209' first='Justin' last='Redmond']. [player_tooltip player_id='1231781' first='Ansar' last='Osman'] is a versatile piece standing close to 6-foot-6 on the wing. Brookwood can live and die with the three-point shot. [player_tooltip player_id='1685130' first='Evan' last='Dunston'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1685131' first='Christian' last='Reid'] can go on scoring binges from beyond the arc, giving the Broncos a puncher's chance if they can free up their shooters and get production out of [player_tooltip player_id='1300726' first='Hunter' last='Amick'], Daylan Dixon, [player_tooltip player_id='2478476' first='RJ' last='Williams'] and Jason Johnson.
