The all-league honors for one of the best in America is out. The goal of this article is to give a bit of context to the MVP and the players who made first-team, as well as share the players who made the second and third teams, using their in-league stats.

First Team

[player_tooltip player_id='1189096' first='Jalil' last='Bethea'] | 2024 Archbishop Wood (MVP)

The 2023 PCL MVP, Bethea made the transformation from sniper off-the-bench, to primary offensive threat. His league-high 24.8 ppg came on efficient scoring from all over the floor, featuring 43.2% from three and 89.9% on foul shots. His MVP run included two 30-point performances (NG & WC) and a 40-ball at SJP.

[player_tooltip player_id='1279647' first='Sultan' last='Adewale'] | 2023 Neumann-Goretti

In his second season in the league, Adewale proved to be a great rim runner and a better finisher. Averaging 10.2 total boards, he led the league in offensive rebounds at 4.3 per game. Adewale meshed that with his 14.7 ppg and 3.0 stocks (1.1 steals + 1.9 blocks).

[player_tooltip player_id='991334' first='Xzayvier' last='Brown'] | 2023 Roman Catholic

Brown ran the show for the Cahilites after only setting the table for everyone else in years prior. Not just with his intangibles, X led the team in points (17.3), assists (4.6), and steals (2.1). And, remarkably, he shot 51% from deep on an average 3.1 attempts.

[player_tooltip player_id='1121735' first='Adam' last='“Budd” Clark'] | 2023 West Catholic

Despite a dip in his assists, Budd became a more complete player as a senior. His scoring (16.8 ppg), rebounds, steals (3.6), and blocks (0.7) all went up. Whenever the Burrs needed a bucket or a big play, Clark was willing and able to get it for them.

[player_tooltip player_id='1197607' first='Jaron' last='McKie'] | 2025 St. Joe's Prep

If there was a “Most Improved” award, it would have to go to McKie. The two-way shooter simply got better. Up to 15.8 ppg, he more than doubled his 3 point attempts (6.7), while raising his percentage (40%), in addition to making winning plays in other ways - 5.2 rpg, 3.1 apg, and 2.8 spg.

[player_tooltip player_id='1281811' first='Izaiah' last='Pasha'] | 2023 Cardinal O'Hara

After making a splash on the PCL scene as a junior, Pasha doubled down on his place as one of the best players in the area. He went from having to do a lot of everything, to being able to focus more on his playmaking, putting up 16.5 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 4.5 apg, 2.9 stocks. And it resulted in Pasha leading the Lions to more wins.

[player_tooltip player_id='1213553' first='Thomas' last='Sorber'] | 2024 Archbishop Ryan

“What Trenton makes, the world takes.” Sorber was a double-double machine and a juggernaut in a league historically dominated by guards. His 10.3 rpg led the PCL. Add that to this 17.8 ppg, 1.3 spg, and 3 bpg; and you have an incredible season by the Raiders center.

[player_tooltip player_id='1121734' first='Zion' last='Stanford'] | 2023 West Catholic

Stanford traded off some of his defensive impact for a higher offensive usage, and it paid off for the Burrs. He still averaged 3.0 stocks (1.8 steals + 1.2 blocks), but it came along with 19.5 points. His free throw percentage even rose from 65.6% to 77.5%, on two more attempts per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1192641' first='Darren' last='Williams'] | 2024 Archbishop Ryan

Williams evolved from a glue guy on the wing to an elite scorer. He contributed 18 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game. His skill as a shooter (on & off-ball) was extraordinary: 38.1% from three, with a league-leading average of 3.1 makes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1116063' first='Robert' last='Wright III'] | 2024 Neumann-Goretti

The runner-up for MVP, Wright III was asked to do more than any other player in the PCL and, with 20.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.7 apg, and 2 spg, he flourished. He improved as a pullup shooter and a defender, shooting 34.3% on 6.6 attempts and grabbing 2 steals per contest, while handling duties as a primary.
