Continue ReadingHis perimeter shooting has been absolutely outstanding over the past few weeks, and he continued his hot shooting streak in their matchup with Sanderson HS. He scored a game high of 30 Points while knocking down eight three-point shots, helping his team to get the win to advance to the next round. There is plenty to like about a prospect that stands at 6’4/6’5 that can knock down shots from outside at such a high rate. Don’t be surprised to see his recruitment pick up as they look to make a run at a state title this year.

The sharp shooting Guard found his rhythm from the perimeter and put on a shooting clinic, finishing with a game high of 24 Points in the win over New Bern. He doesn’t need much time or space to get his shot off, has outstanding shooting range and does a nice job moving without the ball which forces defenders to stay honest. Schools at the D3 and JUCO levels have already extended offers with other programs showing interest.
His team got off to a slower start in the first half, going into the break down by two but they would find their rhythm in the second half, getting the twenty-point win over Wake Forest. He provided a nice amount of offense for his team, leading the way with 17 Points but we also like the defensive intensity that he brings to the table. He’s a young man that truly loves to compete and a player that you will never see back down from a challenge.
It’s rare that you see a player that can dominate games the way he does as only a sophomore but that’s exactly what we have seen from Colt, who just recently passed 1,000 career points in less than two seasons. He can score the ball from multiple levels and understands how to use his height to shoot over opponents without much of an issue. His team high of 21 Points helped the squad to advance to the next round where they will face Jordan HS on Saturday.

The only advice we can give is, make sure you check the backboards and the rims when this young man steps in the gym. He was absolutely dominant inside of the paint from start to finish, scoring inside at a high level and blocking a number of shots on the defensive end of the floor. We love the fact that he understands what his strengths are and plays to them, he doesn’t attempt to do anything that he’s not fully comfortable with.
He showed why he is considered the top player in the state of North Carolina in his class without a doubt and his team was able to get the win by a wide margin against a very solid Westover squad. We love that he doesn’t look to get his own offense too much but instead he looks to make the right play and only takes what the defense is giving him. Last but not least is his effort on the defensive end of the floor, he’s one of the few youngsters that takes defensive matchups personally which will only help his transition to the next level.
Highlights
You have to appreciate a youngster that has the ability to make plays despite what’s going or how the game is being played. His 19 Point performance may not have been the prettiest, but he found ways to consistently be productive against a tough Rocky Mount squad which is something that is rare to see from a sophomore.
