We had the opportunity to watch all the action and here are the top non-senior performers from the day.
Jaden Steppe Jaden Steppe 6'8" | SF Tualatin | 2024 State #289 Nation OR (2024 Tualatin) – 26 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists. Dominant performance from the 6-foot-8 junior, who scored baskets both inside the paint and out on the perimeter. Of particular note on this day was his passing and finding open teammates for scores.
Charles Kapranos Charles Kapranos 6'4" | SF Grant | 2024 State OR (2024 Grant) – 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists. The 6-foot-4 junior forward was tough in the paint but also showed off some of his interior passing ability.
Jackson Owens Jackson Owens 6'3" | CG Cleveland | 2024 State OR (2024 Cleveland) – 21 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists. The 6-foot-4 swingman has become the master of the mid-range flip shot and he converted plenty of those in the win over Tigard. One area where Owens excels at that’s a bit of a lost art is using the backboard effectively.
Utrillo Morris Utrillo Morris 5'8" | PG Roosevelt | 2024 State OR (2024 Roosevelt) – 18 points. The 5-foot-8 point guard was in more of a scoring mode for the Roughriders against Gresham, and went toe-to-toe against Gresham’s guards. Showed off his improved shooting touch by knocking down three from deep.
Jalen Atkins Jalen Atkins 6'2" | SG Barlow | 2025 State OR (2025 Barlow) – 20 points. Sharp shooting from the 6-foot-2 guard both from mid-range and from deep. Converted some drives by finishing through contact and made good decisions in transition.
Mason Bierbrauer Mason Bierbrauer 6'6" | PF Barlow | 2025 State OR (2025 Barlow) – 15 points, 5 rebounds. After a quiet first half, the 6-foot-6 sophomore got things going after the break and converted a number of baskets while also getting to the line, hitting 5-for-6 from the line.
Keion James Adell Keion James Adell 6'0" | CG Grant | 2026 State OR (2026 Grant) – 18 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists. The freshman, who had recently been promoted to varsity from JV, came off the bench and made an immediate impact scoring a team-high. Using his bulk and strength, he was able to get to the hoop and scores, especially in transition.
