He’s worked from both guard positions. He handles well with good passing and decision making. He’s an excellent 3pt shooter starting to get the consistency needed.
Isaak had a breakout early in the season showing what we already knew. He’s an excellent shooter with long range, and now he’s starting to show the consistency needed when putting up 3ptrs. He moves well using screens and footwork to find openings for a good look. He’ll use his dribble, he has good shot selection.
Highlights
We’ve seen steady improvement from Sykes as we’ve gone deeper into the season. He’s a good basketball player, but sometimes with this group we don’t get the consistency. He’s getting things done across the board. He’s a confident, and aggressive guard who can get his own shot in more ways than one. He’s defending with good intensity. He’s the teams second leading scorer, 13.9pts
He brings good bounce and energy when he enters a game. He’s in the rotation on one or NorCal’s top teams. His activity on the defensive end going after blocks and rebounds are noticeable. His lengthy arms and foot speed allows him to play against bigs, and guard on the perimeter. He’s got work to do finishing on the offensive side of the ball. He’s a good court runner, and cleans up anything coming off the rim.
Playing on one of NorCal’s top rated teams, he gives us a glimpse of what’s in store down the line when he’s getting more minutes. Now he’s a solid contributor off the bench giving quality minutes. He has a good set of tools to work with. He has good length, with decent handles, and can work from different areas of the court.
He’s a gritty kind of player doesn’t mind mixing it up a bit, with a good set of tools to work with. He brings good intensity to the court. He plays well off the ball moving and cutting looking for areas to take it hard to the basket. He can hit the mid-range jumper and can knock down 3’s. He takes care of the ball, makes good passing decisions. 10pts a game.
The versatile wing has set himself up for a big Spring and Summer with his play this season. Standing 6’6 and growing he has the handles, and vision to runs things up top. He can get points working the perimeter, putting up 3’s or taking the defender off the dribble, he can use his length to go get a bucket posting when called to do so. He can rebound, push and pass.
He’s got quality handles, speed and confidence to go along with toughness for the guard position. It took him a while to understand what he can do, but now he’s settled, and does his work within the flow. He’s a competitor with the ability to effect the game on both ends. He’s underrated as a defender.
He has a solid body and contributes in different ways. He’s plays well working in the post area, not posting but working for points, and rebounds. He has good hops to go get rebounds out of his area. He has a one or two dribble drive that gets him points. He can handle on the perimeter, run the lanes, and defend on the perimeter.
He has a good understanding of the game. He has the smarts to run point, but is seems most productive playing off the ball, filling lanes, running to spots and putting up shots on this team. He has a good release, with no hesitation. He can use his dribble for dime jumpers and floaters.
