2024 Rankings Update: Standout Shooting Guards

Noah plays with great effort on the defensive end of the floor, he is scrappy and has active hands. He has improved his scoring variety and has improved his scoring at the rim. Noah is a good shooter from outside and takes and makes tough shots, on or off of the dribble. He uses the attention he gets on the offensive end to make dish-off passes and kick outs to open teammates. Noah is a good competitor who has boosted his stock this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1577932' first='Alante' last='Monroe-Elazier']</strong> <strong>- Vista PEAK Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1577932' first='Alante' last='Monroe-Elazier'] is an elite finisher around the rim for a guard. Alante is a lengthy guard with long arms who uses a variety of moves to get downhill. He uses euro-steps and spin moves to finish at the rim, using elite balance to finish through contact. Alante also has a nice turn-around game in the mid-range and close to the basket, often stopping on a dime and then going to his turn-around jumper. He is a good athlete who finishes above the rim making him an exciting player. On the defensive end, he is a solid on-ball defender using his length and athleticism to stay in front of defenders.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1369779' first='Torian' last='Gasaway'] - Smoky Hill</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1369779' first='Torian' last='Gasaway'] has been a huge piece for a top 5 6A school Smoky Hill. Torian standing at 6'0, is an elite athlete who has finished many lobs this season. On the defensive end, he is a very good defender who can lock down opposing guards with his great in-your-face defense. Torian is a good mover without the ball in his hands making back door cuts to find the open spots on the floor. He uses his elite athleticism to finish acrobatic layups near the rim. Torian does a great job playing his role and is one of the best guard defenders in the state.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1318387' first='Mac' last='Terry'] - Rock Canyon</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1318387' first='Mac' last='Terry'] has had a huge role with Rock Canyon a top 3 team in 6A. Mac is a versatile guard who uses his big frame to be a mismatch. Standing at 6'4 with a solid frame, he is able to do a good job battling on the boards and has great instincts chasing shots down on the offensive glass. Mac is a good mover without the ball and has a knockdown three-point shot. On the defensive end, he is a good communicator and a good on-ball defender. Mac is all around solid player who can play multiple roles on the floor.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1420418' first='Jordan' last='Wenger'] - The Classical Academy</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1420418' first='Jordan' last='Wenger'] is one of the best athletes in the state and a very exhilarating dunker. Jordan has good size standing at 6'2 and uses his athleticism to be a very good rim protector. He has active hands on the defensive end which allows him to start fastbreaks, where he strives. Jordan is often the first one down the floor due to his elite speed then he finishes above the rim. He is also a respectable catch-and-shoot player from three-point range. Jordan is very good at basketball but it is not even his first sport as he is an elite high jumper.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
