Each week @PrepHoopsTN will preview Five Games that Matter Most. These are the five for the first week of January.

Undefeated Livingston Academy has their best team since Matthew Sells was a freshman in high school. He is now a college sophomore.

Who makes the Wildcats roar?

Daniel Bilbrey led LA in scoring in the blowout win over Jellico. The scorer put in 16 points. Overall, the team is very balanced offensively. A different player can lead them in scoring any given night. Issac Story, Cole Harris, Easton Goodpasture each joined Bilbrey in double figures that evening.

North Greene starts Jason Britton Jason Britton 6'1" | PG North Greene | 2024 State TN . The combo guard is adept scoring off-the-dribble. His weakness would be playing above the rim.

Jahvin Carter Jahvin Carter 6'2" | PG Alcoa | 2024 State #214 Nation TN is either the best guard in 2024 or mighty close. Jaye Nash Jaye Nash 6'2" | PG McEachern | 2024 State GA is certainly the more classic, pass-first PG. Jahvin is a dramatically better shooter. Alcoa's five losses are a lot, but this game will be competitive nonetheless.

Can Clarksville High please get their first win!? Clarksville was blessed with J.J. Wheat last year, a senior leader and then-future D2 player. He was surrounded by friends and classmates. They won many games. They are all gone and Jabari Jolley Jabari Jolley 6'1" | PG Clarksville | 2024 TN is not getting enough scoring help in order to secure a victory.

Tyler Tanner Tyler Tanner 6'1" | PG Brentwood Academy | 2024 State #133 Nation TN himself is worth the price of admission. Sophomore Myles Sidney Myles Sidney 6'6" | SG Hargrave Military | 2025 VA started a State Tournament game last March for Lipscomb Academy. He is a long-term prospect with D1 potential. Great size for his ultimate position of shooting guard.
