The Mater Lakes Academy Bears (15-3) made the 15 mile trip south to take on the No. 10 nationally ranked Columbus Explorers (14-3). Columbus held on for the 73-60 win after being battle tested for most of the game. Prep Hoops Florida scout Ross Van De Griek took in the live stream and here are his five standouts from the game on Wednesday night.
The 6-5 junior small forward created havoc for Columbus defenders throughout the night, despite an off shooting night. Reid finished with just 6 points and 6 rebounds in tonight’s 73-60 loss to Columbus. Reid was also creating space for his teammates on driving and kicking out to find the open man.
The 6-0 sophomore point guard was electrifying to watch in the first half, finishing with a team-high 22 points with 15 of them coming in the first half in tonight’s 73-60 loss to Columbus. Knowles also knocked down 3 first half 3-pointers to keep Mater Lakes Academy in the game including a top of the key 3-pointer to extend their lead to 27-22 midway through the second quarter.
The 6-3 junior shooting guard was a huge spark for Mater Lakes Academy knocking down 3 three-pointers in the second half in the 73-60 loss to nationally ranked Columbus. Coming into tonight, Mcintosh hit just 4 three-pointers on the season.
The 6-5 sophomore forward finished with 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field and 7-of-11 from the free throw line, as well as collecting 9 rebounds and a blocked shot in tonight’s 73-60 win over Mater Lakes Academy. Boozer was attacking the basket and finishing around the rim at a high percentage.
The 6-9 sophomore power forward and top ranked prospect led the way with 25 points and 11 rebounds in tonight’s 73-60 win over Mater Lakes Academy. Cameron had a few highlight plays where he had a couple of dunks in transition as well as being a solidified rim protector throughout the night.
