Chatham Charter (23-0)

The Chatham Charter Knights made it to last year's NCHSAA 1A State Championship before falling to Hayesville High and they're currently on track to get back to the state playoff finals in 2022-23. They're unbeaten at 23-0 on the season and haven't lost a game since their overtime loss to Hayesville back in 2021-22. They're a well-coached group led by senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1257290' first='Adam' last='Harvey'] and sophomore forward Brennan Oldham. Harvey is a 6-foot-2 guard producing 17.2 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.2 apg and 3.0 spg as an unsigned senior name for DII and DIII programs to get eyes on. [player_tooltip player_id='1360334' first='Aamir' last='Mapp'] is another 6-foot-2 guard that's been productive in their backcourt. He's putting up 10.5 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 3.0 apg and 2.7 spg as an athletic two-way presence in their backcourt. Another sophomore to keep an eye on is guard [player_tooltip player_id='1225618' first='Beau' last='Harvey']. He's averaging 8.9 ppg, 5.1 apg, 4.5 spg and 3.3 rpg in his sophomore season. He's a scrappy two-way presence that's shown his development in 2022-23.

Washington County Panthers (14-1)

The Washington County Panthers are a squad that's 14-1 in 2022-23 and riding a five-game winning streak heading into the final two weeks. They've shown some grit this season in going 8-1 in conference action. 6-foot guard [player_tooltip player_id='1743484' first='Darius' last='Lewis'] leads the way for them with 17.2 ppg while 5-foot-11 floor general [player_tooltip player_id='1743485' first='Le'Shaun' last='Jackson'] is right behind him with 16.7 ppg, 6.1 apg, 5.3 rpg and 3.3 spg to lead the offense. Lewis has knocked down 49 3-pointers (47 percent) from deep for the Panthers in 2022-23. Lewis and Jackson are two unsigned seniors for DIII and JUCO programs to get eyes on with Washington County High. Junior duo [player_tooltip player_id='1743497' first='Amari' last='Chesson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1743510' first='Ke'Vontae' last='Lucas'] are two other names to keep an eye on with the group. Chesson is a 6-foot-1 guard that's shown he can be active as a scoring and rebounding threat. He's averaging 9.8 ppg, 8.8 rpg and 1.8 spg. Lucas is an athletic 6-foot-6 forward producing 9.8 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 3.4 spg and 1.5 bpg. He's shown he can use his athleticism in more ways than one to be effective on the floor.

Bertie Falcons (16-3)

Bertie High is a group with a few different prospects to keep an eye on as they're currently 9-0 in conference action. They're a group led by senior volume-scoring guard [player_tooltip player_id='1078982' first='Zy'lee' last='Bazemore']. He's an unsigned senior guard averaging 14.2 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.8 apg and 1.6 spg to lead the Falcons' backcourt. Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='1225452' first='Trevon' last='Holleran'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1225450' first='Jahkelvin' last='Rascoe'] are two other names to pacing this group. Holleran is a 6-foot-3 wing prospect averaging 11.7 ppg, 3.3 rpg and 1.8 spg. He's shown he can operate inside and out when the ball comes his way. Rascoe is a speedy point guard producing 11.4 ppg, 5.3 apg, 5.2 spg and 3.4 rpg as their other featured name in the backcourt. They're a scrappy group that gets after it defensively and imposes their will in games.

Northampton County Jaguars (10-4)

The Northampton County Jaguars have already had some early tests in the 2022-23 season as they're led by sophomore sensation [player_tooltip player_id='1226601' first='Jiyoun' last='Williams']. He's posted 15.6 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 2.6 apg and 2.1 spg as they enter the final two weeks of the regular season. He's a strong 6-foot-2 guard that's shown he can operate off the bounce and make things happen in the paint. Junior wing [player_tooltip player_id='1772423' first='Jamari' last='Blake'] is right behind him in the scoring department, pouring in 11.6 ppg at the other guard spot. On the opposite wing, sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1412247' first='Darrion' last='Ellis'] has shown his development with 9.8 ppg. As they show they're collective strength on the rebounding front, look for them to surprise some folks in the 1A East.

Wilson Prep (14-6)

Don't let the Wilson Prep Tigers six-losses fool you. They're still 11-0 in conference and none of their losses have come against opponents in their 1A classification and two are against opponents out of state. Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='1104960' first='Brandon' last='Anderson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1772438' first='Leslie' last='Minter Jr']. have led the charge for the Tigers in 2022-23. Anderson leads the backcourt with 14.9 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.8 apg and 2.2 spg on the season. He's a shifty guard that can operate on the perimeter and get his paint touches to make things happen. Minter is a strong perimeter threat, averaging 12.7 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 2.0 apg and 1.3 bpg as a breakout performer in their rotation. He's a 6-foot-5 wing that's shown he can fill it up from deep. Unsigned senior guard Jahmar Jones and junior big man David Ellis are two other name to watch with this group. Jones is averaging 10.7 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 2.8 apg and 1.7 spg in the Tigers' backcourt as another one of their lead guards. Ellis is a 6-foot-8 big man averaging 7.3 ppg, 10.8 rpg and 1.8 bpg. As he finds his consistency in the frontcourt, look for this team's success to go up as will his recruitment.
