Friery is one of the most intriguing long-term prospects and after a slow start to his sophomore season he’s really hit his stride. His performance in a win over STVM was impressive and all the flashes you wanted to see from him were on display. Friery has grown recently and is one of the youngest players in the 2025 class. I believe Friery will attract high major offers and has a shot to be nationally ranked by his senior season.
Barber is one of the top passers in Ohio regardless of class and has been instrumental towards Richmond Height’s elevation as a program since he’s walked through their doors. A tremendous leader and impactful point guard, Barber is near the top of the list for guys you’d want to win you a high school game. His size might limit what schools offer Barber, but I believe he will at worst be a high priority recruit for mid major programs across the region.
Cotton is another prospect who is starting to come into his own this year, showcasing his elite shooting ability. While I haven’t gotten the chance to see Lima Sr yet, I will be doing so very soon as the Spartans play in some marquee all day events this year. Cotton is a solid athlete and was starting to put together his isolation skills as well. I’m excited to continue to check in on his development very soon.
Another prospect who has taken a recent growth spurt, Kropp is now around 6’8. Injured to begin the high school season, I haven’t gotten a chance to see him play just yet as he only recently has seen game action for an Olentangy Liberty squad that has smashed preseason expectations. Kropp is improving as an athlete and has intriguing upside with his size and skill. Hoping to see him play before the high school season ends, Kropp could continue to rise up the rankings.
The second Richmond Heights Spartan on the list, Winters has one thing he does better than almost anybody in his class and that’s shoot the ball. Whenever his team needs a momentum shifting jumper, Winters is the one taking that shot. If Winters can get a little more athletic and find another niche on the court whether that’s passing, defending or attacking closeouts he’ll expand his game that already is translatable to the next level.
One of my favorite players to watch in central Ohio, Spiva plays the game with a relentless aggression and has been one of the most productive guys on a stacked Pickerington Central squad. Spiva knows how to get to the bucket and finish and is starting to shoot the ball with more confidence. I’ll be curious to see what sort of impact Spiva makes for a playoff push as the Tigers look to repeat.

Another central Ohio prospect, Brown has been excellent for Olentangy Orange all season, playing a role next to a trio of senior guards that handle the ball a majority of the time. Brown is a good catch and shoot wing who has some ability to take players off the bounce and attack mismatches either on the perimeter or in the paint depending on whether Brown has a speed or size advantage on whoever is guarding him.
