Rocktop Academy won this entertaining and high scoring affair, 86-80.
Below is a look at a few of the college prospects who took the court during the LaSalle CHS vs. Bonner-Prendergast
Rocktop Academy
Ryan Archey – 6’0” / Post Grad / New World / Point Guard: The more we watch this former Gwynn Park (MD) standout, the more we like his game. Archey (17 pts. last night) is a downhill, attacking style of point guard. His elite ability to change pace and direction enables him to get to the rim whenever he wants. Archey also owns a smooth stop and pop game. His 3-point shot must be respected too. As a bonus, to all this scoring, Archey can facilitate for teammates.
Marco Ceppo – 6’0” / Senior / Combo Guard: Ceppo is a native of Argentina who is playing his first season of high school ball in this country. To his credit, Ceppo has made a quick adjustment to American hoops because he was extremely effective in this contest. Ceppo displayed good court vision and passing instincts while dropping several dimes on teammates. When he was not distributing, he splashed a three and got into the paint for buckets and/or trips to the FT line (8 points total).
Earle Greer, Jr. – 6’7” / Post Grad / Team Final Red / Wing: We have noted numerous times on this site, that Greer is posting a monster 2022-23 season. Last night this wiry perimeter scoring machine got off to slow start because he was being face guarded for 94 feet. But, in the second half Greer was able to find the space needed to splash two triples. His hot outside shooting continued and then his transition / dribble drive game kicked in. When the final buzzer sounded, Greer had 27 points on the strength of 6 made threes.
Janik Harbeck – 6’3” / Senior / Shooting Guard: If you did not know that Harbeck is from Germany, his Euro-guard style of play would give it away quickly. He can really shoot the jumper and owns range to the arc. His ability to use his body to shield off defenders is unique. He displayed solid transition passing skills. Harbeck possesses a high basketball IQ and plays with composure. He scored 9 points (2 threes) in Rocktop’s win.
Hill School
Quadri Bashiru – 6’9” / Junior / PSA Cardinals / Center: Bashiru is an extraordinarily long athlete who runs the floor well and competes in the paint at both ends. He is an intimidating shot blocker. As his offensive skills develop, he should become a legit threat on the low blocks.
Josh Cameron Josh Cameron 6'7" | SF Hill School | 2023 State PA – 6’7″ / Senior / Riverside Hawks / Wing: Cameron is asuperb athlete who can score the ball from mid-range to the rim. He plays through contact and draws fouls. Cameron is force on the defensive glass and triggered Hill’s fast break with nice outlet passes. Additionally, Cameron did a respectable job in the 1st half of guarding Rocktop’s Earle Greer.
Matt Field – 6’7″ / Post Grad / Durham Hurricanes / Power Forward: A long, athletic, and high IQ player, last night Field impressed us with his well-rounded skill set. He is a Swiss Army knife athlete who can do anything the coaches ask. If he develops a consistent three-point stroke there is a possibility he could run as a stretch-4 in college. Field (6 points) is committed to Ursinus (D3).
Augustus Gerhart Augustus Gerhart 6'9" | PF Hill School | 2023 State PA – 6’9” / Senior / Philly Pride National / Power Forward: Gerhart (Penn commit) used his size, athleticism, and smooth footwork to score the ball on the interior. Plus, he worked the offensive glass for second chance points. Unfortunatley for us, Gerhart (14 points) did not have a chance to demonstrate his improved 3-point stroke that should enable him to run as a strech-4 in college.
Jacob Meachem Jacob Meachem 5'8" | PG Hill School | 2025 State PA – 5’9” / Sophomore / K-Low Elite / Point Guard: Meachem (17 pts.) is a floor general style of point guard who can score, distribute, run a team in the half court and rebounds well for his size. Last night he knocked home 3 triples and exhibited a nice pull up game. Meachem’s elusive handle enable him to get to his spots easily. At the other end of the court, he proved to be a tenacious defender.
Justin Molen – 6’6” / Post Grad / East Coast Cyclones / Wing: The 2021-22 state of Delaware POY showed that he is a versatile interior / perimeter threat. He drained two 3s in the 1st quarter. Throughout the remainder of the contest, Molen demonstrated that he could score via slashes to the rim. He finished with 12 points.
Trey O’Neil Trey O’Neil 6'1" | CG Hill School | 2024 PA – 6’1” / Junior / NJ Scholars Elite / Combo Guard: This fast and athletic scoring guard put his quick trigger and deep range on full display last night. O’Neil knocked home 7 threes against Rocktop (30 pts. total). Three of those makes came from NBA distance. When a defender closed out too quickly, O’Neil used a dribble drive to get to the cup. We were also impressed with his off-ball movement.
