Kolakovich was more than impressive when I watched his game against Almont. He did a great job letting the game come to him and making plays when they were available. Kolakovich did a great job controlling the feel and the pace of the game. He showed that he could push the ball with both the pass and the dribble, hitting Kroetsch in stride with a pass up the floor that led to a bucket and then pushing with the dribble and kicking out an open Kroetsch for a triple. Kolakovich was able to beat the defense down the floor for easy points as well as poke and prod until he found a lane to the rim.

Roszczewski is a name that’s popped up a couple times in the first half of the season. He’s been playing solid basketball and deserves that recognition. The Croswell-Lexington defense was stout all night and really didn’t allow for open and easy looks at the rim. That being the case, he did a nice job getting creative and finding a way to get the ball at the rim. Roszczewski did a lot of work from mid range where he hit a shot with a hand in his face and a floater through contact.
I’ve always kind of felt like Nemeth deserves some more press than he’s been given. The young man is a legit next level prospect. He can get creative with the ball in his hands and can manufacture shots that may not appear to be available. Nemeth appears at his best when attacking the rim off the bounce. He can use his handles to get his defender off balance and create a path to the bucket. Nemeth does a nice job playing through contact and drawing fouls. I really think that this is a lead guard that schools should have a serious eye on.
Kroetsch carries a reputation as a shooter, but he really showed off a well rounded game. He hustled down the floor and created options on offense. Kroetsch threw some nice passes, perhaps the prettiest being an early feed to McDonald. He showed that he could play through contact and was much more active on the glass than I remember seeing. Kroetsch’s defense was solid as well, even picking up a steal that directly turned into an assist for him and a bucket for the team. He didn’t just stalk the 3 point line as a shooter, but also looked get to the rim aggressively.
