I’d never had the opportunity to evaluate Greene, so he was a really pleasant surprise. I actually saw him in 2 games and he was pretty impressive at both. Greene played very aware defense, allowing him to read the pass, step in the passing lane, and pick up a steal or deflection. Offensively, he was a grinder. Greene was incredibly active in both contests. He almost played better through contact and it felt like he got to the line a ton. Greene rebounded bigger than his height.
Jayden Potts Jayden Potts 6’6″ | SG Ann Arbor Skyline | 2023 State MI has a lot going for him as a player and a prospect. It seems like he’s gotten even more athletic. Against Ypsilanti Lincoln, I really liked the way he attacked the defense and put pressure on them to rotate or help. Potts went to his right a couple times and showed that he could finish, even in traffic. He also had a nice baseline take and was fouled for the and 1. Potts will be a key player late in the season, as I think he has some of that take over mode that can win games in crunch time.
Blanton is a part of an incredibly talented Chelsea perimeter attack. Quite frankly, there’s a handful of them that have very real college basketball aspirations. Blanton is a really critical piece in that mix. He has good size and strength and shows a willingness to get big and battle under the boards. Blanton can fill it up with his jumper and is pretty athletic as well. If Blanton is playing well come playoff time, good luck ousting Chelsea this year.
Mesman and star freshman Sanderson are really starting to gel and vibe on the court. More about Sanderson in Part 2. Mesman has started to realize that having a big time guard is going to free up space for him. The last 2 game he’s done a great job finding open spots. Mesman has been a warrior on the glass for Saline, showing the toughness that makes him a nationally regarded tight end prospect. In their last game against Lincoln, he found those openings on the perimeter and delivered multiple 3 pointers.
