Like in the previous article I stated that there were plenty of talented players in this years 2022 McClintock Holiday Shootout tournament.

In this segment I take a look at some players who, while they did not make the all tournament team, they were very impactful in the outcome of the games.

[player_tooltip player_id='1120889' first='Torin' last='Bosch'] Basha

The senior wing was the calming point for the talented Bears. It seemed like every time they were in danger of giving up a lead he made a play to sway the momentum back in their favor. His footwork in the paint was a thing of beauty. It didn't matter when he had a bigger player on him, he had a move to get his shot off.

[player_tooltip player_id='1490241' first='Elijah' last='Summers-Livingston'] Basha (Featured Image)

The talented freshman is beginning to come into his own. He attacked the rim more aggressively than when I had previously seen him. He had the winning put back in the semi-final to help Basha get to the championship game. He has also improved as an out of area rebounder.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150823' first='Kalek' last='House'] Desert Mountain

The strong guard hit some big shots this week. He's a very composed player who didn't try to play outside of himself. He is a very good shooter but this week he was more of the facilitator setting up his teammates and making sure they were involved in the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1138592' first='Aiden' last='Price'] Mountain Pointe

The senior guard was on GO the whole week. He was one of if not the leading scorer for the event. He hit an array of shots and many he had defenders hands right there. Price brought intensity that was rarely matched and it showed in his play.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150940' first='Rowan' last='McKenzie'] Boulder Creek

While this wasn't one of McKenzie's better shooting events, he still ran the show well displaying his play making skills. He used his football frame to shield off defenders especially when he attacked the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='1216984' first='Caden' last='Hunter'] Liberty

The forward was his usual self in that he gave his all whether his team was up or down. He averaged a double double for the week and hit his 3's at nearly a 37% clip. He was a hard cover because most forwards can't run with him and they were uncomfortable guarding him that far from the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='1220362' first='Donovan' last='Beard'] Dobson

Beard was often double teamed but still found a way to average 20+ for the event. His handle made it difficult for the defense to keep him bottled up. When the first move wasn't working he just went with the counter move. He kept his teammates involved by often passing out of the double teams.

[player_tooltip player_id='1421588' first='Dwayne' last='Jones'] Valley Vista

With the graduation of standout wings Jones now is getting a chance to show what he can do. He ran the floor well and attacked the paint with purpose. He also showed a surprisingly very good touch from the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='1141680' first='Bobby' last='Holcumb'] Apollo

Holcumb was getting buckets averaging over 28 points per game during the week. He hit some deep shots that had the defense looking helpless. He was one of the quicker players there as he blew by defenders even when they gave him plenty of space.
