The after that, Glenpool pulled out to a big lead on Adair, which was led by a freshman and a sophomore. Adair tried fighting back, but could not quite recover. Then for game three, Nathan Hale destroyed Locust Grove JV. For the final game, Locust Grove came out and dismantled Enid. They had so many steals in the first quarter, that they fit their name of Pirates.
If I was to choose an MVP for the first day of the tournament, it would be Kabron Lewis Kabron Lewis 6’2″ | CG Hale | 2024 State OK . He made scoring look so easy and effortless. Within the first two and a half minutes of the game, he had already made three three-pointers. In the first quarter, he had 11 points, 18 points at half-time, and ended with 28 points in the game. His team was in complete control for the whole game, which that played a factor in his playing time. He played maybe 10-11 minutes in the first half I am guessing it was and was taken out with two minutes left in the third quarter. He shot five for eight from three point range and was efficient from the field. His scoring went beyond his shooting, as he would score in transition or drive and finish around a defender. His impact was more than his scoring, as he played great defense and would lock up whoever he was guarding. It was an impressive game for him in this one.
Highlights
Damario Adams Damario Adams 6’7″ | PF Nathan Hale | 2025 State OK had a phenomenal first half. He was the best two-way player I saw out off the whole tournament. At halftime, he had 15 points, five steals, and two blocks. He barely played the second half because of how far ahead his team was. Almost all of his points came inside the paint, mainly with dunks. Several times, he would get a steal and just dunk it with power in transition. He played great on-ball defense, too. He ended the game with three blocks and just an all-around dominant performance It was impressive watching him in the first half in his limited time.
Tyler Wiggins
Tyler Wiggins
Tyler Wiggins was impressive with his shooting. It felt like whatever he put up, went through the nets. He finished the game with 19 points, knocking down a couple of threes, hitting a mid-range jumper, and scoring inside several times. No matter if he was guarded by a bigger defender or not, he would fade away and drain the shot. His scoring was not the only thing that he did well, as he grabbed several rebounds, too. He did not look like a sophomore in this one.
Kaden Walkingstick
Kaden Walkingstick
Kaden Walkingstick never seemed rushed and played his game, not allowing the defense to dictate what he did. He finished the game with 10 points and made several nice passes. His points typically came from him scoring inside or knocking down his free throws. He showed his ability to act as a point forward and set his teammates up with his playmaking ability. Not only did he help his team on the offensive end, he played great defense. His team came away with a dominant win.
Tagen Winn
Tagen Winn
Tagen Winn showed his ability to score the ball in this game. He had four three pointers in the third quarter and finished the game with 23 points. His scoring came from other ways than just shooting, as he showed his ability to put the ball on the deck and get to the rim. He was not afraid of contact, as he would finish through contact and had an and-one opportunity in this game. There was one play that he drove and delivered a beautiful bounce pass to his teammate for an assist. To go along with his scoring, he had couple of rebounds and a block. It was a good game for him, but that was the only bright spot for his team.
