The game was great to watch and was a hard fought battle to the end by both squads. Though Wheeling Park came out with the win, I was impressed by players on both sides. Here are a few players who really stood out and impressed me the most.
Mykel Davis
Mykel Davis
Davis is an all around scorer. He can shoot the outside or mid-range shot either off-the-catch or off-the-dribble. He comes off-ball screens tight to lose his man and try to get the ball in a place to score. He is a great passer on the drive. When he drives toward the basket, defenders pick him up and he is able to find his open teammate quick. He is a great rebounder on both ends of the floor and is able to get to the line with put-back attempts.
Davis is a true ball hawk on defense. He is able to pick off passes and take them the other way very quickly. He is great with the ball in transition and moves the ball up the floor while looking for open teammates filling in the lanes. He can really light it up from beyond the ark whether a hand is in his face or he is left open. He is a knock down shooter and handles the ball really well.
Xander Gibson
Xander Gibson
Gibson always seems to be in the right place at the right time. He is able to find the open spots on the floor where it is easy for him to score. He is a great passer and always makes the right pass for his team. He can shoot whenever he is given space and is excellent handling the ball under pressure. On defense, he keeps his man in front of him at all times and is able to get steals off of defensive rebounds.
Austin Fleming
Austin Fleming
Fleming is really efficient underneath the rim. He is physical inside and uses his size to fight for position to get the ball or the rebound. When he gets the ball on the low block he can either score or he is looking to kick it back out to an open teammate. On defense, he is great at boxing out and being on the help side when the ball comes into the paint.

Rodriguez is a true floor general when he is on the court. He plays with excellent pace and is in complete control of the offense when the ball is in his hands. He can see the floor and is a great passer off the dribble. He can shoot from outside as well and has a consistent, solid shooting form. His mid-range pull-up game is also very nice and he can be dangerous when coming off an on-ball screen.
David Parsons
David Parsons
Parsons is great shooting the ball from outside off-the-catch. When defenders close out on him too quick, he is able to give them a pump fake and drive to the basket to score. He is very creative when finishing at the rim over defenders. He is great at filling in the lanes in transition and is always making the right play. He is consistent on defense and does not give up easy buckets to his opponents.
