Here are some student-athletes who stood out in the contest:
Drew Streb
Drew Streb
Streb is a force in the post for the Regals. He works hard for paint positioning. He identifies defenses well and anticipates when the double team is coming. He locates open teammates when receiving extra attention and finishes when he has an opening. He shows a good mid-range game and attacks the boards on both ends of the floor.

Michael Martin Michael Martin 6'2" | SG Regina | 2024 State IA
Martin offers nice size and length for a guard. He’s a two-way player who impacts the game on both ends of the floor. He’s a three-level scorer with good form and a quick release on his shot. He handles and moves it well, not forcing the action when he receives extra attention from the defense.
Eddie Peterson
Eddie Peterson
Petersen excels at getting the Regals into their deliberate, half-court offense and then making sure it flows once underway. He handles pressure well and defends nicely on the ball. He displays technically sound form on his outside shot and can finish in the lane over bigger players.
John Devery
John Devery
Devery plays the role of enforcer inside for the Regals. If you drive into the lane, the big man will be waiting to greet you. He’s a relentless rebounder and passes well out of the post. He can finish with power at the rim.
Jayce McHugh
Jayce McHugh
McHugh is long and bouncy with a well-rounded skill set. His length gives him an advantage when operating in the post or penetrating to the basket. He shows a smooth shot and finishes well with both hands. He’s a solid defender, rebounder and passer who works well within the Comet system.
Seth Axsom
Seth Axsom
Axsom boasts a toughness and understanding of the game that exceeds his years. He plays hard-nosed, on-ball defense and handles it well. He shoots with excellent form and a quick release. He has a good idea of how to feed the post as well.
Ryker Dengler
Ryker Dengler
Dengler does a nice job understanding his role as a sophomore on varsity and contributes wherever his team needs it. He leads the team with 2.4 steals per game, which shows he gets after it on defense. He’s also one of the team leaders in assists, doing a nice job finding open teammates in position where they can finish.
