This class featured several players that have made the leap in the rankings, including a plethora of stockrisers. In this article, we take a look at some of the top stockrisers in the class of 2023.
9↑6 Bradley is a player that has steadily climbed up the rankings based on his consistency. He’s one of the better shooters in the state evident by his appearance on the top 25 shooting list. In addition to his sniping ability he’s a better than average athlete, that is a key contributor to one of the top programs in the country.
14↑8 Mabry has come from way off the radar to make his way into the top 10. His size and athleticism is extremely valuable. Despite being doubled and triple teamed nightly, he has still managed to find a way to score the basketball around the hoop. He has worked himself into a scholarship athlete of some level.
13↑10 Boykin has a lot of intangibles that i like. He’s a team leader that provides exprience for his high school program, however his tangibles are also jaw droping. One of the top high academic players in the state, Boykin is a marksmen with the ability to change the scoreboard with his three point shooting ability.
20↑16 Riley just keeps climbing up the ladder. The big man with hops is an intriguing prospect, as he will be counted on to be an inside force for a legacy team with championship aspirations.
23↑17 I’ve watched Tatum for quite some time now, and have come to the realization that it’s time to ignore what you think he can’t do, and start focusing on what he does do. The forward is a dominant force around the basket, that can score it off straight line drives, direct entry post passes, and by catching and finishing in transition.
24↑22 OZ has hovered right around the top 25 range for most of his career. He gets a little bump in the rankings based on his recent play. The big man is going to give you boards, and will defend and the value that he adds to Mabry’s game allows him to rise in the rankings.
32↑23 Quitana is an intriguing prospect, that I have to spend a lot of time watching on film. His comparative athleticism is what jumps out most at me. That along with his early season production, have given him the opportunity to rise in the rankings.
28↑24 Burney is another high academic guy that has a shot to play somewhere at the next level. He’s not the best R&J athlete, however it’s impossible to ignore his skill level. The PG shoots it at a high rate, and can also handle and distribute with the best of them.
Highlights
52↑24 Farrimon made one of the highest jumps of any player in the rankings. He has gone from a top 60 player to working his way into the top 25. The easiest answer as to way is his body, as his slimmed down frame has allowed for better conditioning, and movment. He’s a highly skilled player that was always a good shooter, when you throw in his academics it’s fairly easy to see why his stock has risen.
34↑26 Saw Garcia this weekend at the Wild West Shootout, and he deserves a little bump in the rankings. He’s going on my all irrational confidence team for sure, as Garcia stays aggressive throughout games. What he showed through his play, is that he has the ability to score the basket ball, with his specialty being using dribble drives to get into the lane and score.
51↑46 The “Big E” as I like to call him is one of the best rebounders, and glue guys in 4A, I have known this for a while, however he has risen in the rankings mostly because of his athleticism and academics. Ezidiegwu is a high 3 point student that has shown the ability to play above the rim.
