With high school basketball on a small hiatus due to the holiday season, Prep Hoops Wisconsin takes a look at some Greater Metro Conference standouts:

[player_tooltip player_id='1203205' first='Nolan' last='Minessale'] -- SF -- Marquette University

Marquette University finds themselves at the top of the Greater Metro standings through a handful of conference matchups. The biggest reason for Marquette's success this season has been the play of Minessale. The small forward has been terrific. He is scoring 21.5 points per game. Minessale is an incredible athlete in the open court. He is one of the bounciest players in the state. He is capable of converting on some pretty impressive plays around the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='953956' first='Luther' last='Smith'] -- SG -- Sussex Hamilton

I always knew that Smith was a top tier talent. But I would be lying if I said that I thought he could play this well. Through seven games, the shooting guard is scoring 30.4 points per game. Smith isn't stat padding against low level competition, either. Sussex Hamilton has faced some really good teams. It is still early in the season, but right now, Smith is playing like one of the best players in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='981005' first='Danny' last='Staskunas'] -- PG -- West Allis Hale

I have become a really big fan of Staskunas over the last few years. The point guard is a terrific shooter and scorer. He can catch fire from beyond the arc in a hurry and is also great as a slasher. Staskunas is much more than just a scorer, though. The point guard is also a solid rebounder and advanced passer. College programs should certainly keep an eye on Staskunas moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='980996' first='Robert' last='Peters'] -- PF -- West Allis Hale

Peters is a prospect with a ton of potential. The power forward is big, strong, and skilled. Through six games, Peters has played really well. He is scoring 18.7 points and grabbing 9.8 rebounds per game. Ranked just outside the top ten in Wisconsin's 2023 class, I think that Peters could make a huge positive impact for a team at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1142131' first='Jack' last='Daugherty'] -- PF -- Brookfield Central

Daugherty is no doubt one of the most talented prospects in the Greater Metro. The 6-foot-8 power forward has a rare blend of size and skill. On the perimeter, Daughterty moves well for his position. He is never stagnant. The PF is always looking for a way to get his shot off. As a shooter, Daughterty is effective. He recently tallied 41 points for Brookfield Central in a win over Wauwatosa West! It is only a matter of time until top college programs begin to offer Daughterty.

[player_tooltip player_id='1089681' first='Cole' last='Hansen'] -- SG -- Wauwatosa West

Hansen has made a lot of improvements in his game recently. It is clear that the SG has put in the work. He is leading his team in scoring with 19.1 points per game. Hansen is a smart scorer who always sees holes in the defense. He is a true three level scorer. Hansen's ability to put the ball in the hoop puts a lot of pressure on opposing defenders.

[player_tooltip player_id='1203046' first='Andrew' last='Graf'] -- CG -- Brookfield East

Graf has been one of the more efficient prospects in the Greater Metro. Averaging 17.1 points per game on high volume shooting, the combo guard is shooting 61 percent from the field. I think that the Brookfield East CG has gone under the radar for too long now. This season he is proving to be one of the best players in the state.
