Travis Paleo
Travis Paleo
Travis Paleo was on target early and often for Foothill on Saturday and finished with 24 points and 3 three-pointers in a tight win over Newport Harbor. Paleo had 15 points in the first quarter for the Knights and was on fire from beyond the arc with 3 three-pointers. Travis also showed off his ability to finish while off-balance as he made multiple jumpers off one foot and multiple difficult floaters.
Isaiah Bernard Isaiah Bernard 6’5″ | SF Foothill | 2024 State CA-S had a strong performance against Newport Harbor on Saturday as he finished with 13 points as well as several rebounds, steals, blocks, and deflections. Bernard was particularly dangerous in this one as a rebounder on both ends — his speed with the ball allows him to be a 1-man fastbreak after a defensive board and he puts defenses under tremendous pressure.
Dylan Hugues
Dylan Hugues
Dylan Hugues had 13 crucial points for Edison on Saturday as the Chargers survived a layup attempt at the buzzer to beat Portola. Hugues had a strong performance on both ends in this one as he also contributed several rebounds and deflections.
Colin Huang
Colin Huang
Colin Huang had 14 tough points for Portola in a difficult loss to Edison on Saturday. Huang used his tight handle in this one to get into the paint where he showed that he was able to finish with either hand.
Devin Daniel
Devin Daniel
Devin Daniel finished with 15 points and 3 three-pointers on Saturday in a loss to Edison. Daniel shot well from the mid-range in this one, hitting a bevy of 1 and 2 dribble pull-up jumpers.
Kenneth Bailey
Kenneth Bailey
Kenneth Bailey caught fire for Crean Lutheran on Saturday hitting 6 three-pointers in what was a 27 point effort albeit in a tough loss to Rancho Verde. Bailey clearly showed in this one that he is a major catch and shoot threat whenever he is on the court. Kenneth likely needs to improve his ball handling to be successful at the next level.
Kaden Bailey
Kaden Bailey
Kaden Bailey finished with 15 points and 2 three-pointers on Saturday in a loss to Rancho Verde. Playing against two very talented guards 2 & 3 years older than him respectively, Bailey had a strong showing in this one as he showed why he has so much promise as a guard that is able to effect all aspects of the game.
Anthony Smith Jr.
Anthony Smith Jr.
Anthony Smith Jr. had 24 points and multiple steals on Saturday in a win for Rancho Verde over Crean Lutheran. Smith Jr. used his quickness to dominate as a paint scorer in this one as he was just about unstoppable after catching the ball in the high post area. Anthony is able to finish with both hands so defenders cannot force him either way with confidence and his athleticism makes it possible for him to finish over/around seemingly bigger defenders.
Jermaine Washington Jr. had 16 points for Rancho Verde on Saturday in a competitive win over Crean Lutheran. Jermaine was effective scoring at all three levels on Saturday as he contributed points from the free throw line, hit 2 three-pointers, and attacked the rim aggressively for several lay-ups. Washington Jr. is also a tremendous weapon for his coach on defense as his speed/strength combo allow him to bully a lot of opposing ball handlers.
Justyce Lucero Justyce Lucero 6’0″ | SG Rancho Verde | 2025 State CA-S excelled from beyond-the-arc on Saturday as he hit 6 three-pointers for Rancho Verde in a victory over Crean Lutheran. Lucero was able to find spaces in the Crean Lutheran zone all afternoon and displayed great offensive awareness while doing so. Justyce is more of a catch and shoot threat than he is to create his own shot off the dribble.
