The Tip Off Classic is still in our minds as the event was elite. Here is the East Court rundown and what the results meant.

LCWM over Concordia Academy. LCWM took full control of this game and made many take notice. [player_tooltip player_id='962261' first='Zack' last='Wells'] was a rebound from a triple double and his ball movement opened shots everywhere. I think LCWM is a deep team that can rely on 4-5 guys to make shots and while they aren't an overly tall team, they are strong and have some size too. Good all around team.

Robbinsdale Armstrong beat Rosemount. I've been very impressed with Armstrong. [player_tooltip player_id='1284213' first='Seth' last='Newbern'] is so much stronger this year and he's used that strength for some big results. He's a player that is on the up when it comes to stock. Newbern took over that game late and [player_tooltip player_id='1448601' first='Desmond' last='Ware'] had four second half baskets that were key as well. Throw in the veteran skilled guys and their veteran tough guys, I like what Armstrong is doing.

Cherry over Hayfield. The Cherry Tigers made a statement. When [player_tooltip player_id='1288733' first='Isaac' last='Asuma'] is on the floor with his team Cherry is the number one team in Class A and they proved it this past Saturday. Hayfield is of course very good, they always are. But the depth of Cherry is going to be tough to beat. Asuma is a nationally ranked junior, [player_tooltip player_id='1601068' first='Noah' last='Asuma'] looks so similar to Isaac you have to keep a close eye on their numbers. Noah is a great defender and he shot it well. He's shorter than Isaac but stronger. [player_tooltip player_id='1579910' first='Noah' last='Sundquist'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1579911' first='Carson' last='Brown'] are both sophomores and both of them looked like prospects we need to watch closely. Cherry is going to be tough for anybody to beat.

Holy Family over PEM. PEM is breaking in new three starters and last Saturday they didn't have [player_tooltip player_id='1492565' first='Kaiden' last='Peters'] who was at the football all star game. I thought PEM was going to get blown out but they showed a ton of fight pushing the Fire to the final moments of that game. The Fire won behind a great performance from [player_tooltip player_id='1287442' first='Kole' last='Hanson'] but PEM pushed them despite being short handed.

Mahtomedi defeated Stewartville. The Zephyrs stretched the Tigers past their capability. The depth of scoring options was too great. [player_tooltip player_id='962216' first='Will' last='Underwood'] was the toughest to stop with his 29 but [player_tooltip player_id='1430801' first='Cole' last='Armitage'] stepped up to hit for 16, Javan Harvey scored 14 around the basket and [player_tooltip player_id='1221176' first='Owen' last='Carlson'] chipped in ten points. Zephyrs are a deeper team than people know, great senior class.

Princeton outlasted St. Thomas. One a one point win Princeton proved they have more in the tank than we realized. [player_tooltip player_id='962273' first='Cooper' last='Drews'] was all around fantastic with 24 points, 9 boards, and 7 assists but the Aaron Keykal near double double of 19 and 9 was just as important. Zach Andresen and [player_tooltip player_id='1223105' first='Graham' last='Peterson'] stepped up as well.

Lake City beat Minneapolis North. The Lake City Tigers were up 20 at one point. [player_tooltip player_id='1284149' first='Jaden' last='Shones'] gave them 20 and 20. [player_tooltip player_id='1225623' first='Ryan' last='Heise'] continues to show he is a top 20 level prospect in the senior class. The game looked over. And then with every North basket the crowd got louder, and louder, and louder, and then so loud I thought something was wrong. Followed by another basket that had people running from court B to court A which really caught the attention. Awesome atmosphere, Lake City escaped.

Maranatha Christian beat Maple River. This was a really big win for MCA. Maple River is a top five team and they had just beaten GSL and Minnehaha Academy. For MCA to put together a one basket win over a really good Maple River team says a ton.
